~«Survival By War»~ (Warrior cat rp)

~"Then you should treat her-your kin- better, if anything," he retorted sharply and spun on his paws. Almost as an afterthought, he snapped his head around to catch Shadepaw's eyes, his own burning deep into the apprentice. "Your kin aren't going to be here forver. Just ask Hazelpaw."~

Shadepaw stiffened "I treat her fine! I am only trying to make her stronger then the pathetic mouse she is now!" He states defensively, returning the his own burning glare at Fogblaze.

~

Lightpaw watched the events closely, she was behind Shadepaw by a few fox lengths so he wouldn't notice her.

~Fogblaze padded away from the fuming apprentice, tail flicking in storming rage. I'm the better cat, he tried to reassure himself as he was tempted to go pin the impudent kit down and rake his claws across his pelt. He gently approached Lightpaw and motioned for her to follow him.~

Lightpaw flinched in shock as Fogblaze approached her and she glanced at Shadepaw, who met her gaze with a furious glare, this caused her to whimper and trail closely behind Fogblaze with her body sunken close to the ground as she moved

~Fogblaze slowly led her out of camp into the canopy of the neighboring, but veiling, oak trees. He turned around and uttered a long sigh. "Lightpaw, you're terrified of him, aren't you?" he quiered gently, although he believed the accusation enough to say it as a statement.~

Lightpaw was taken back by what he said "What? N-no" she mumbles, failing at being convincing I know part of me is, but I shouldn't be he's my brother she thought dreadfully guilty at realizing that she was kinda terrified of Shadepaw.

~Fogblaze gently draped his tail over her shoulders and reassuringly sat beside her. A twing of pity gnawed at his stomach for the bullied she-cat. "Sunstar always knew he was going to be trouble," Fogblaze murmured distractedly. "From the moment he was apprenticed, he wouldn't give a whisker of attention to any cat that was a heartbeat younger than him."~

Lightpaw ears flattened, she remembered how she was best friends with her brother when they were kits but only days after being apprenticed he had seemed to have given up on her and their once close bond. "He truly cared for me once but now I'm not so sure, he seems to be caught up in himself and what other cats think of him" she states with a sad whisper.

~"I know," he murmured gently as the twinging feeling wrenched his gut again. "Shadepaw has too much pride and too little compassion." He dipped his head in immense sadness. "It pains me and every other cat in our Clan to see how we have failed in bringing him up."~

Lightpaw dipped her head in defeat "I should have helped him, as one of his closest kin I should have done better but I'm too pathetic to even do that!" she mumbles dreadfully

~"You're not pathetic!" Fogblaze mewed fiercely, gently nudging up her dropped muzzle so that he could hold her gaze. "You're amazing!"
Fogblaze could've fallen off of his branch and hit the ground without feeling any impact. Why in the name of StarClan did I say that? "And brave and kind and caring," he hurried on, wishing that his muzzle would close already before he made a complete and utter fool of himself to Lightpaw. He abruptly looked away, trying desperately to find some other object of interest beside Lightpaw's intense eyes.~

Lightpaw was shocked by his words and she felt her skin start to heat up from embarrassment "I...have never been told that" her voice trailed off a bit before her giggles softly "You're joking with me, I'm not any of those" she decides quietly Starclan what if he did mean it? Why is he being so kind to me? Why is he even talking to a cat like me? these questioning thoughts raced through her mind quickly

(Sorry it took so long to respond! My kindle was lagging and acting up)
