«We Could Be Legends»

Alice frowned eyes shut, opening one eye to look at River who was in the front. "They're not stupid. Besides we have a plan. It makes sense for us to meet them with the crystals after they have they key. It'll take time for them to get it and it'll take time for us to get back to town." It made sense to her to do it that way. It's not like they didnt have special powers, what help would healing or being able to transform into a cat do? When there were wyverns and teleporters and telekinetics already there. "It'll be fine." She said closing her eyes again.
"Actually, contrary to apparently common belief, your sister isn't experienced in dodging suicidal gangs, neither is the rest of them. And... Never mind. Wolfram, drive."

Jenna smiled. "There should be milk in the fridge. Anyone who wants coffee, or to make adjustments to their coffee, do it now." She said to everyone, and turned back to Ash. She knew what Ash almost said, and was grateful she didn't say it, the word "suicide" bringing up bad memories for her. "Yes, I will be coming. It's just like old times, only with our children, and hopefully I will not leave suddenly."
Lachlan stared at her stupidly as she mentioned it being like 'old times', being possibly the only one out of the three present teenagers to fully understand what that meant. "Well, there's never a time to not have coffee." He muttered, quickly darting into the kitchen to get himself a cup.

Connor had his face too far into the coffee cup to partake in the emotionally charged conversation.
"Hey, I've never pressed it before, and I'm not going to now, but I still do wonder where you disappeared to during all that," Ash commented somewhat cheekily as she made her way over to the fridge with her cup. After having opened it, she took a while to recover from the refrigerator's sheer amount of contents. "So, yeah, it'd be nice to have you stick around until the day is properly saved."
...if it is.

If she wasn't so tired she tease her aunt for the wrong use of the word. If only the pure were suicidal instead of homicidal. It would certainly make their life easier. It actually was concerning that River was so flustered but Alice fell asleep.

Finlay leaned against the counter, smirking at her cheekily. "'Day is properly saved.'? Does that mean we're now officially part of the Hero gang?" He asked, drinking a water innocently.

Jenna watched Lachlan walk into the kitchen. "The to-go cups are in the cabinet on the middle shelf." She called after him.

"Well, around that time my mother had a stroke and was in the hospital. I also found out I was… pregnant. So you can see why I left, I really didn't have much of a choice. I do wish I could've stayed and helped though." Jenna replied.

"'eck no, kid, there's only one bunch of Heroes and we're already long established." Ash finally located a humble jug of milk and poured just the right amount to tinge her coffee hazel. She yeeted the milk bottle back into the overstocked fridge and casually slumped against the counter alongside him. "Who knows, though. Being the kids of heroes sure does open quite a few doors for you guys. Who knows what you could become."

"...you were, weren't you?" Ash realized, feeling an unbelievable level of stupid for still not having deduced that two decades later. "Toby. Wow, it's really been nineteen years?"

Mug warming her hands, she looked up at the kitchen's ceiling, peacefully reminiscing.
It really is my 15 all over again for my daughter's.
Well, I kept her from living my traumatic childhood...but now we're here...

Jenna nodded. "Time flies by quickly, does it not? It feels like only yesterday I found out. If it was I could've changed things. There are things I've done and said that I will always regret." She said sadly.

Ash awkwardly furled a wayward strand of hair around her finger. There'd always been a restricting shroud of disappointment and rue over every one of the Davises. "Regrets both behind and before us, we're all here now," she declared softly, yet strongly.
Thomas and Tayn aren't.
Ash nearly choked on her coffee.
