«We Could Be Legends»

Wolfram fumed silently, a flash of color rising on his cheeks. "We where not having a 'adorable connection' Lachlan." He bit out, eyes narrowed. He dug his phone out of his pocket, shoved himself off the bumper, and walked up to Lachlan, handing him the phone, "here, use mine, and please ignore the many texts from my ex that are blowing up my phone, she's insane."
Having overheard the last part of his sentence, Brisa spoke. “You could block her. Or at least turn on airplane mode and deal with her later.” She suggested, glancing in between him and Bleddyn and thinking absentmindedly of how cute it was that he was embarrassed around Bleddyn.

"Hm? Oh, yeah, right..." Wolfram quickly blocked her number, and the messages stopped appearing quickly. He handed his phone back to Lachlan, and gave his friend one last glare, before glancing back at Bleddyn, who was still sitting by the van. "You have the key still, right Brisa?" He asked, absentmindedly watching Bleddyn.

"Contrary to common belief--" Lachlan called, turning on Wolfram from Finlay, whom he had been having a quiet conversation with. "--we do know, and were just about to call her. Until we realized my phone is broke, and of course, Finlay very usefully left his phone at the Davis's house. And we were waiting to point this out since you two were busy having an adorable connection of a bonding moment." He said matter-of-factually, suddenly turning to Bleddyn. "Oh, and any chance you have a functioning phone on you, Dyn?"

"So it's your ex," Bleddyn commented, her tone something of scornful amusement."Wow, that makes a lot of sense."
She jerked her head so that Lachlan was the recipient of a torrid glare. "Also, Lach, you just earned yourself another slug in the gut."

"What does that supposed to mean?" Wolfram turned away from Brisa, giving Bleddyn a icy stare through narrowed eyes.

"Just the agitation that you've been radiating ever since it started blowing up," Bleddyn replied simply and gave another noncommittal shrug.

She nodded, her hand going instinctively to her pocket. “Yep. We never even took it out of the envelope. Should we open it?” She asked.

"Well, you would be agitated to, if someone kept trying to get you back after they did something horrible." Wolfram retorted, and nodded at Brisa. "We should. We're going to have to anyway."

"Clingy one, eh?" Being extremely interested in finally getting a glimpse of the extremely coveted Key, nearly all of Bleddyn's attention had been redirected to Brisa.

”Okay.” She pulled it out of her pocket and tore open the envelope, feeling exposed and vulnerable standing in the open like this. Lifting the key out, she held it carefully in the palm of her hand. “I knew it was just a bank key, so I don’t know what I was expecting, but that’s a bit anticlimactic.” She admitted sheepishly.

"You could say that." Wolfram muttered to Bleddyn, frowning as Brisa held out the key, "well, we have the key, and Mapleshade doesn't. That's all that matters."
