«We Could Be Legends»

“Maybe...If someone asks, I have a really mean cat.” Wolfram concluded turning away from her and held the door open, “you have the key?”
She nodded, entering the cool interior of the bank and quietly saying a little “Thanks,” to him for holding the door. “I have it.” She patted her pocket, turning to look back at him. “Do you want it now?”

Wolfram came in behind her, and nodded tensely. “Yeah...” I never thought I'd one day have a poison that can kill a entire race.

She reached into her pocket and took out the small key, handing it to him. For some reason a massive wave of anxiety swept over her when it left her hand, and she glanced around to make sure no suspicious-looking Pure member was going to snatch it away. “Well, there you go.” She said, drawing in a shaky breath.

Wolfram stared at the strange key, resting it in the palm of his hand. "I've done a lot of insane things in my life," he murmured, "but never, ever did I ever think that I would hold a key to a poison that can destroy a entire race. A poison my mother made. Of all people, my mother made this."

“Do you know why? She would’ve probably been around our age when she created it if it was used to rid Gage of his wings. Do you think she was forced?” Brisa asked, looking up at his amazed and anxious face.

"I didn't even know this existed until two days ago. I have no clue how she made it or why." Wolfram frowned, struggling to imagine his mother ever being forced into something she didn't want to do. "No. Nah, she can't have been forced. Even if she had a gun to her head she wouldn't have done something like that against her will." He shook his head, eyes never leaving the key. "But why, is my question. Why would she, the person who didn't care if you where human or not, create a poison? To kill Inhuman's, no less? That's just not...mom."

“Well, one thing’s for sure, she was super smart.” Brisa mused. “The only thing I can imagine is that she was tricked somehow. Maybe enchanted?” She suggested cautiously, knowing how he already disliked Indigo and not wanting to make it worse.

"She was brilliant. She wa– enchanted?" Wolfram narrowed his eyes, glancing out the window at Indigo. "Maybe– no. My mom was to smart to...to be tricked into something like...like that. Unless...no. She..." He clenched a fist, knowing Brisa could be one hundred percent right, but his hatred for Enchanters refused to let him believe it.

Noting his glance out the window, she said, “Whatever happened, no one here is to blame. She must have been brainwashed somehow or did it of her own free will, although I can’t imagine why.”

"It doesn't make sense!" Wolfram hissed, the sharp teeth of the key digging into his palm. He let out a seething breath, glancing back at River and Jenna. "Lets just...do this, then..."
