«We Could Be Legends»

"I'm fine." Toby snapped at her. "No, I don't want you to watch him. He stays with me at all times." He squinted at her. "You're looking at me weirdly. Stop it."
Bleddyn unhooked her hands from her knees and put them up defensively. "Whoa, whoa, sor-ree." Biting back an additional unwise retort that would definitely trigger him even more, she scooched back farther down the wall, still crunched into a ball of limbs and torn clothing. You're obviously the minority in a sea of wounded porcupines today.

I shoul apologize. Eh, whatever. It was her fault. Besides, she looks tough enough to not need an apology. Toby looked back down at Alpha.

Toby watched everything go down from by the door. He glanced outside, but didn't think he'd get far before he was caught or died. He sighed and sat down, pulling Alpha onto his lap. He hated the sterile smell of hospitals, it reminded him of pain and death. It was freezing inside there, and he shivered. Stupid woman with her stupid powers. I'm gonna die here because she wouldn't let me go home. At least if I die I can make the pain stop forever. Toby thought. He leaned against the wall and stared at the ceiling. After a few minutes he looked at Alpha. "I love you so much." He mourned, and kissed his head.
Della Hailey walked over to the short man next to his dog. "Dogs of all kinds, even those without a vest, are allowed inside, you know," she said with her honey dipped southern accent. She really was a honey, and her hair matched.
"Come along, let's get you healed up, we've got healers. I'm not a nurse or a receptionist, I'm a healer too. Rooms opened up." She nudged him down the hall, rubbing her hands together, as of warming up, blue glowing between her palms, cool and beautiful.

Bleddyn stared at the woman through her curtain of ruffled hair, eyes narrowed in disgust. She curled up even tighter as Toby was herded by, wishing herself invisible to avoid a similar fate. Who in their right mind would trust a sickeningly alluring singsong like that? She's practically speaking in yellow. And an untrustworthy shade, at that.
Annnnnnnd I'm mentally rambling about devious colors.
....
I need sleep.

Toby jerked backwards. "Lay one finger on me and I will blast you into the wall." Toby snarled at her. He glared at her, his eyes had a evil and psychotic look.

"You too," Della said. She meant all the teenagers collectively, feeling self conscious as the blond one judged her.

Della rolled her eyes. "We're not all enchanters like that Indigo. I'm just a healer. Be that way if you want to die."

Wow, A+ for being professional. Toby thought. At least she'll leave me alone. He turned around and walked back to his spot by the door. He pulled out his phone, to see if he could get it to work. The phone screen was shattered, and it wouldn't turn on. He banged it against his hand, more in frustration than trying to turn it on. Stupid thing never works when I need it. He angrily shoved it back in his pocket and sat back down on the floor.

"No, really though, you have a hole in your stomach. If that Alan is going to breach, well a lot of security precautions bringing you here, you should at least let someone heal you? Like Roberto? He's not a pretty female like me."
A large Hispanic man with sideburns and a goatee in a white coat waved.

"Considering my options and the Yelp reviews, I'm staying right here," Bleddyn snapped, head retreating farther down into her t-shirt's neckline.
Something dribbled onto her lip and she instinctively let her tongue out to dispose of the contaminant. The familiar tang screaming bitter metal had her tongue curling as she drew it back into her mouth. What now. Even the rhetorical mental question was wry.
