*°Hell as White as Snow°* (A Role Play)

Nora gestured for them to follow her then as she lifted her empty pack and headed out into the snow. She knew the direction of the houses from the day before, and figured it would be a few hours brisk walk at least to get there.

Nigel Gestured for Janette to follow Nora ahead of him happy to bring up the rear.
Janette pulled her coat tight around herself as she followed after Nora, eyeing her curiously. The woman couldn't be above thirty, yet she had already assumed a leadership role in the whole group. But Janette wasn't grudging her that; it was good to have someone like her among them. They had little chance of survival here otherwise, she was sure.

"It will be a few hours probably of walking to get there, hope you are both athletic. If anyone needs a break we will find some cover and take a short break." Nora told both of them as she glanced over her shoulder at them with a smile. She was happy to be out again, even in this weather she had always been happiest outdoors or working at her practice with animals. She was hoping to see some sort of animal life out here today.

Nigel moved up next to Janette and gave her a small smile. He wasn't sure what to say but so he walked alongside her in silence. He wanted to ask questions but was unsure where to start and what to ask.

(There ya go; I was wondering how long he was going to keep his perfect English  This conversation is going to be pretty amusing, with the two of them and their messy language)

Madeleine wrung her hands nervously as she prepared to tell him the fate of the Führer. "Dierk," she said gently, "vôtre Führer est dead. Il killed himself when le war was lost." She glanced up at him, watching for a reaction as she continued in a rush. "Et non, few people have respecte pour him. Vous only know le good deeds he did pour vous et vôtre people, but il did many terrible things to those not German."

Dierk didn't even know how to respond when Madeleine informed him of how the Führer had died; by taking his own life. It seemed so...Just, cowardice to him.
"Er killed himself? Dass ist not as brave as ich had imagined ihm going. Er was a man ich truly looked up to, aber maybe er was not as sane as most...Ich guess ich just thought that a man like him would go out more bravely.
Ich do know of the terrible things the Führer did. Hölle, ich experienced it first-hand. Ich have been exposed to it so long, ich have become rather callused to it alle. To mich, it ist almost like everyday life to mich."

"Athletic enough," Janette said under her breath. She'd never been much of a sporty person, but she was a runner enough that a few miles on this ice wasn't going to kill her. She was losing herself to deep thinking when she became aware of the presence at her side. She gave a sidelong glance at him then directed her gaze straight ahead. "Cat got your tongue?" She asked coolly.

Nigel gave her a perplexed look. "I beg your pardon, but no my tongue is my own. And I don't see any cats here anyways." He replied with a confused expression on his face.

Madeleine had to listen hard to understand the words amongst Dierk's rough accent. But, she supposed it was equally troublesome on his part to understand hers. It was a funny group the ice had thrown together, that was for sure.
"Oui, il did," she said softly. "Mais the war didn't finit immediately après his death. There was tension pour un while. Eventually, mais, l'Allemagne—Germany—did restore herself," she assured him.

Janette rolled her eyes. So that's what kind of guy he was. Very well then, literal it would have to be. "We've got a couple hours worth of walking, so might as well talk to each other. Tell me something about yourself, sir," she said in a slightly disinterested tone.

"I am sorry if I offend but I have never heard that phrase before. If your truly wish to know of me I would be happy to share. " Nigel responded both polite and crisp. He was unsure if she truly wished to know about him or if she was simply filling the silence.

"Yeah, please tell us something, anything," Janette requested. "There's not much to be learned in this silence anyhow."

"Ich suppose dass is reassuring, aber dass young man, Ian, did admit dass mein country is now gone. Aber perhaps ich should nicht dread dass too heavily. Right now, im mein time, Germany is still remaining. And if ich ever go back home, it will still sein there. It will nicht be gone like he told mich, at least nicht yet. So, ich have dass to hold onto."

Dierk had pretty much stopped truly trying to speak English. He could still be understood, like how he understood the gist of what Madeleine was saying, but he was now incorporating much more German than usual. It made the conversation not seem so foreign to him, since he was partially speaking the language he knew, before his wife had taught him English.
