"I'd stay away from them if I were you, we have a truce right now with them and if they see you here they might think you were a WingClan chicken spying on them." He explained

"Yes, I can do that!" However, Silver's feet had not carried her far before the strange thought struck her that she hadn't the faintest idea of what lichen was. Embarrassed, she crept over to the den and took a quick look around the corner, hoping nobody would see her and realize that she couldn't do a little thing like find lichen. The stuff on Icegem's wing was a light bluish-green, and flaky. Easy enough to remember.

It took a good fifteen minutes for Silver to find a large enough leaf that was not poison ivy, and scrape off some of the strange substance from a nearby tree in the camp. Careful to actually fold the ends this time, she brought the package back to Thorntalon, delighted that she had accomplished an actual mission.

"What . . . what is the lichen for?" she couldn't help but ask, staring dumbfounded at the weird stuff that the medicine hen obviously prized.

"Ah, the lichen absorbs the blood and germs in the wound," said Thorntalon.

He smiled at her, she reminded him of the young children he'd sometimes talk to through the crevice of his den. They always made his time there a bit more tolerable.

"It began a long time ago, when I was just a young cockerel, I had just been working for my apprenticeship at that age. I had no knowledge of my history before then, it was all a blur because of how young I was. I have now concluded that perhaps DarkStar executed my parents, because that is the only logical reason I can think of for their mysterious absence throughout my life. And, as I've said, DarkStar is a wicked and ruthless murderer.

I remember this day with precise clarity, I was so proud; I was the youngest of my clan to advance onto apprenticeship. While the others waited the average six moons, I only waited five. Not to brag here, but, they'd seen a rare advancement in my fighting skills. I was devoted to my practice. I trained when the others were asleep. I wanted to become a warrior, so badly. My work was well worth it-- at the time.

DarkStar came to me, with a tempting offer. I was suggested to become deputy. Of course I accepted the offer; I was ecstatic. I didn't know then, how evil DarkStar truly was. "First," he told me, "You must pass a test." I nodded eagerly, his face wound into a grin as he brought me to a battlefield. Young BlackSnake unceremoniously dumped a hen at my feet. I looked at him, and to DarkStar. I didn't understand. "Kill her." he simply stated, without a even a brief glimmer of regret in his cold gaze. He wanted to lure me into his heartless army of demonic brutes with temptation. To his dismay, I was bull-headed; I admit to it. "No," I refused, "I can't." His smirk melted away, "But why, my dear warrior? You're so close to ruling this clan with me!" he crooned, but still I was disenchanted. Conspiracy theories were already arising in my head. Not wanting to lose what he saw as his best warrior, he siezed me by the wing as he saw me turning to leave. He called his medicine hen, she forced a strange solution down my throat, one she'd been trying to perfect for months. It was a solution that caused you to become a mindless, and almost zombified bird. I coughed and gurgled, trying to spit it out. I couldn't. That is where it all went downhill." he lowered his head.

SUSPENSE!!! Gimme a chance to write all the rest, I just didn't wanna lose you guys.
