Crispin was still looking the way the herd had left, worried. He knew something bad had just happened, but he couldn't figure out what.
He just tried to remain quite, hoping everyone would come back soon.

(Yes.)

(Sweet.)
Jackal awoke, covered in dust. He had been laying on the ground all night. He got up and shook. He looked around. He looked at all the happy foals playing. A smile spread across his face. H e turned toward Kotori to show her the foal. Then relized she was gone. He looked into the sky and whinnied shirlly. He put his head over the fence. He whinnied weakly for her.

"How much fer her?" The other man asked, ignoring the pained whinnies His scruffy beard needed to be washed, his overalls beginning to wear unattractively. "5 grand." The first man clenched his jaw, as well as Kotori's reins, refusing to change. "I guess so," The second man wrote out a check in his fake checkbook, ripping it out and handing it to the first man. "I'll take 'er if that's fine by you." He yanked Kotori's reins, squeezing her lips even more. "So, I can call you at 853-973-8394?" He asked. "Yes, siree," The buyer asked, shoving Kotori into the trailer and slamming the door. "Your name's Raymond Everdel?" He asked. "Yes," The second man said before waving and hopping into his truck. He then pulled out his driver's license. The name printed on there was indeed not Raymond Everdel.

"JACKAL!" She whinnied sadly, wanting nothing more than having him and Lilah back. "Give it a rest, sweetie," A crippled old gelding wheezed. "We're the unwanted. All that's going to become of us is dog food."

"How are you feeling?" Knoton asked softly.

"Alright I suppose. I'm terribly worried about Marie." She said uneasily.

He snorted sadly. "Me, too."

"Do you think she's alright?" Persephone asked, looking at Knoton pleadingly.

Jackal heard a slight sound in the distance. "KOTORI!" He said with all his might.

He flicked his smooth tail, his fins extended to catch as much water as possible. "I think you've come to the right place," He said kindly. "I must ask you, though - Do you know of the hippocampi called Ares?"

The mare's green eyes suddenly became wide as she looked down. "Yes.." "I know of him." "Why?"
