Well they do get thistle in them easily and then you get Thorns in your foot whenever you put them on...

OOOOOOOh I thought you meant crocodiles... I also dislike crocs after wearing them for several years and loving them I had a yellow jacket crawl in one of the holes and got stuck between the shoe and my foot. Hornet didn't like that... neither did I.
