"Quite good, and you?" She asked.

"I'm alright. Though, I'm a bit annoyed that a few pride members left without my consent and I have no idea why," he replied.

"Who's left so far? I haven't been paying attention, family matters have been getting in the way." She said.

"Do'oh!" Milo gasped as the air whooshed from his lungs and the furry blur leaped away.
"To much fer ya?! Huh? Huh!?"
"I'm gonna skin ya you oversized meerkat!!!" Mili roared, struggling to his feet.

It had started just about an hour ago. Milo had gone scavenging for a meal out on the plains, hoping to beat the intolerable heat. After about a mile passed before he spotted the blood trail and the remains of an impala, fresh killed.
What he didn't see was the cheetah, it was standing just inside the waving grass by the base of tall, scraggly tree trying to figure out how to haul his meal up. It had been a battle the dragging the awkward carcass over to a large enough tree and he was taking a break.
The air was stiller than the water in an old gold fish bowl and the crickets in frenzy, so neither heard nor smelled each other approaching.
The shock Milo and Texan felt as their eyes met over the impala, who by the way neither cared nor felt any of it, was enormous. They stared blankly at each other as if waiting for the other to evaporate. But neither did and Texan was the first to move, flying up and over Milo, spotted coat flashing.
Milo whipped a paw up instinctively and swatted at him, missing for the most part but caught him enough to give him a half spin.

And so it had started, Texan darting around like a maddened bee and Milo snarling and swinging his paws like an enraged rabbit.
