Here's the proof about how expensive horses can be...
Overo mare, if you could play along: A date out with you, let's say a nice dinner, and a movie, or other venue of entertainment. would cost a guy how much?$$$ honestly?
Then there's the cost of the home, the car/truck, and any animal Mare would want to stable.

See what I mean? The first date alone, far exceeds most men's budgets!

I’m betting a case of clay pigeons, couple of shotguns. Small bonfire and steaks on the BBQ with decent whiskey would be considered a good time. While not breaking the bank.

Just shows different approaches are far more expensive.

There were at least 20 large cardboard boxes the size of the one in the picture full or pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. And rows upon rows of pumpkins on tables. There were easily a few thousand.
There were also a lot of cute doggies. And goats! I only got a few pics of them but there were 4 goats. The one I'm holding in the pic was so wittle!! I wanted to take him home but Kiki said no

The white boer pumpkins taste the best. The green ones don’t appeal to me. Different taste & not as sweet.
