This is where it gets tricky I think. How much will 12 hens drink? A flock of roosters might drink 5% of their body weight per day, a laying hen might drink 13-15%, and growing pullets might drink close to 20% (I have a reference somewhere that says this).Bringing us back on track...so if I were to use the goat wormer instead...following the dosage instructions...what would that look like exactly in a 3 gallon water dispenser for say 12 birds in that pen?
I have the kind that is gravity flow....I've heard that the Safeguard tends to settle to the bottom, which for the gravity flow type should work well, I should think.
Sorry...the FDA will get the nod to the approved med, but I'm not spending $$$$ on the water soluable Aquasol.
Any ideas how to do this with the goat wormer?
Thanks.

Orally by beak it's about one drop per five pounds.Which goat wormer...the Safeguard one?
If yes...I believe it is better to dose each bird straight to the beak with it and not mix it in water.
Hold on...I don't think one drop is enough.Thank you, everyone for the great information. I have a hen with visible confirmation of roundworms, and I will try the Safe-guard goat wormer at one drop per five pounds orally. Any additional insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
You are going to want to give .23 ml per each pound of weight.Thank you, everyone for the great information. I have a hen with visible confirmation of roundworms, and I will try the Safe-guard goat wormer at one drop per five pounds orally. Any additional insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
