Pic of the chips with something for size comparison? Like a golf ball... something like that. We rented a chipper, and it was more like a chunker. 🙄 Was hoping for a more useful sized result. I might be up for a used one if lucky enough to find one--if any of them make better chips. 🤷‍♀️
These range in size from chunks to chips. For my purposes the chunks work fine. The smaller the unit that you use, the smaller the chips will be.

I have a small electric model that makes nice chips from small stuff and could probably be fed the chunks from the bigger model. The turkeys love to dig through the big ones for bugs and etc.
 
Apparently you have not seen the recent recalls for flour that has been contaminated by e. coli. This wasn't a problem years ago but contamination of food products is an ongoing thing today.
Good point & better reason to produce your own--whatever you need. I occasionally use flour, but could easily live without it. We mostly eat meat anyway. 🤷‍♀️

I can't do without flour. I need muffins, bread, pies, etc.

How could I possibly have a BLT without the toast. What is life without pies?
 
I had no idea! I'm sorry. Thank you for the warning, elk -- I'll try to stop eating raw dough, except for taste-testing.

I wonder if it helps to ferment it. Sourdough (raw or baked) is nothing short of intoxicating. I have to avoid it except for a couple times a year as a holiday treat.
