I saw this recently and thought some of y'all might find it as interesting as I did. Never seen anything like it.
A fawn found with a rare facial cleft: a Tessier number 7 cleft, in which the face fails to stitch together starting at the base of the ear.

Oh my goodness... the poor thing!
I... I might have nightmares now, too.
*Shudders.*
Poor little one!

❤ I like to take a short walk after a day like that. Helps my body understand that my brain is tired.
Are you working on anything particular right now?

A walk would have been nice :hmm But my lungs were not up to it today, so DH and I went for a drive instead.

I am working on a grant application to the National Science Foundation. I have actually been working on it since January. BUT it is finally *almost* done. :fl And it is the last thing I have to do to advance to candidacy. Plus, if I don't get it finished soon I will probably go insane and break my computer of something lol.

😍 I knew it would be something cool.
Congratulations, I hope you finish with a bang and all your hard work pays off. You deserve it.

Really? Then the cleft also affects his brain's physical sensation receptor thingies?
It looks horrifying, but that sounds kind of interesting....
No, his brain would've been intact.
It's not an open wound or any sort of trauma, he just developed (or didn't develop) this way in the womb.
Craniofacial clefts (including the very common cleft palate) are uncomfortable I'm sure, but generally not considered painful. ❤️
