Pellets are more cost effective. They expand in the bird's bellies and fill them up faster. But they drink a lot more. Five- 3.5 gallon buckets a day- alone in the big house.Have you only fed your chickens pellets? or have you tried crumb or mash? and have you found a difference in your chickens eating them? We have mainly used crumb but one random day i was being a lil durr like i stated earlier and got mash and they seemed to waste more then eat. Another day the feed mill was outa crumb and i got pellets instead and they looked at me like it was foriegn and did not eat it well at all, they did eat it eventually but not like they were eating the crumb.
Im completely freindly no foe here i dont wanna get eatin![]()

When we feed crumble (when we run out of pellets), it takes almost an entire 50# bag in one day. With pellets, around a half to 60% of a bag.
Crumbles also get lost and encourages rodents to come and feast.
Any bird over 6 mon of age goes on pellets. More bang for your buck.
Great. I think I am already don't with the Payback brand. I'll double check that I have both of these on my sheetI use Payback Hatch to Hen medicated for chicks and Payback pellets layer feed from local Cenex.

Farmgate layers pellets and For Farmers are the same feed. Just different names.
The only info I have is what's on the label. I used to feed farmgate but I don't have any sacks left. Do you need a better picture of the GLW label and the forfarmers label?I'm confused.
Will you help me please.
