➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I must admit goats are pretty impressive. They look pretty much harmless .The second you let your guard down they turn into devastating machines of destruction.
I have heard lots of accounts! :gig I wanted baby goats as young as I can remember. My grandparents were pretty adamant it was never going to happen. They had goats once upon a time, and they said they didn't want anymore on the vehicles. I bought a bunch of second-hand sheep panels from a couple who were moving to the city. Their goats had effectively stripped the entire barn of its wiring.
Both amazing and scary.

I love your incubator and am in awe of its size!! :bow I just showed my husband.
I think he felt a little sick. :lau

How many eggs have you put in there?? Is that from the fish market?
I'm pretty sure I'd have to see how many I can stuff in there. :ya Maybe 1000??
Gee, that would require a massive brooder/building.
Maybe it's a good thing you have it and I don't.;)

I can fit about 90 or so in mine.:celebrate

I found a smaller fan at my fave hardware store for it. That should increase the eggs it can hold.

¿He cometido un error?

I'm sure it will hold way over 100 eggs maybe 200.yes it's from fish market. If you go to any fish market in morning they will usually give them to you.Especially during Salmon season they don't reuse them they just throw away.

Know what? Something just hit me tonight that we haven’t even mentioned on here yet - if we did I missed it. This says a lot about the tenacity of a little embryo, doesn’t it?

Think of it - all of the perfectly understandable concern hatchers have at a power outage lasting a few hours, or a broody being off the nest for longer than we think she should be, or even opening the incubator long enough to hand turn eggs.....blown out of the water by this experimental odyssey!

I mean, this store ordered the eggs after incubation had started, or so I think I read on here somewhere. Those eggs were selected, put into cartons, taken to the store in a truck or some such and for who knows how long a trip. Then they were put on the shelf until The Happy Clicker came along. After that they went home with her, another car ride, and it took her a bit of time, I’m sure, to get around to candling them while she put other stuff away or whatever. So that means those eggs, already along in their development, continued to do what they had to continue doing - growing, moving around, little hearts just beating away as if they’d been under Mama Duck without interruption.

Ain’t that something??

Heck no I'm not buying an incubator.

You must, just in case something like this happens. DH bought me one for Valentines Day cause he heard me talking about wanting to hatch. Not the one I wanted but it's the thought that counts. It's still sitting in the box, have tested it but still in the box. Good to have :)

Definetly nice to have. You never know when you will get the itch to incubate. They can also be used to keep grilled cheese sandwich warm.
