➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

13 Reasons Why. My teenage twin sister in laws were raving on about it a year or so ago about how deep and amazing and “important” it was so I gave it a go.
That show made me nauseous. I really don’t like it’s message one bit.

I can absolutely see why someone wouldn’t like comic book movies. Marvel has become lazy (ant-man, ugh) and everything is running together, it’s obviously just a cash cow now (the entire avengers series). DC has had some nice gritty gems but seems to randomly miss the mark horribly (Batman v Superman, GAG).
I grew up reading comics so it’s a nostalgia thing for me, especially X-men. The X-men movies are for me what Star Wars is for everything else lol. I’m planning on rewatching them for the fourth time soon.

In terms of actual good movies that deserve the hype and had some soul put into it I’d say Logan and The Dark Knight would be up your alley. I think Guardians of the Galaxy did quite a good job of making a non cheesy comedy (unlike the new Thor, cringe..)

I didn’t have enough to get over the “I’m making a total fool of myself” paranoia.
I put myself to bed lmao.

Is now a bad time to tell you I don’t even like gerbils? Hehe.
Be prepared for some neurotic behavior keeping it by itself, social rodents will literally die of depression. Gerbils are also notoriously bad chewers, check the plastic parts of cage every day for escape attempts. They’re not chill like hamsters, just warning you. That being said, best of luck! They’re cute little nutters.
When I was young each child (3 of us) got a gerbil for Easter. all 3 were supposed to be the same sex. We ended up with 1 male and 2 females and at one point had a total of 21 gerbils. Good Luck. :hugs

I have to laugh at all this distressed looking stuff because I have only bought a new couch, chair, tv/stereo stand and 3 mattresses in my whole life and I am now retired.. everything else was used and some was from the side of the road.... so I am right in style .. everything I own is distressed :gig
We found a great dresser for the baby on the side of the road, good piece of solid wood furniture that needed small amount of work on the drawer rails, cleaned with a new coat of white paint, DIL bought cute drawer pulls and Ha HA, free good furniture. People just don't know how to fix stuff any more. :barnie

Yes! I took those pictures in an emergency room, back with the Mini foo foo-ed up his arm.
I used a few of the wipes to clean stuff in my purse.
I might have put a couple extra wipes in my purse to clean door knobs when I got home.
That's how you get them, just don't tell anyone. The single packaged ones are great for small children in public restrooms. Quick swipe of the toilet seat.

Well all good news here, except I may not have very much time for BYC in the future :hit
DD goes to Pensacola Sunday to work for 2 weeks opening a snow ball stand (real NOLA shaved ice) for one of my closest friends (she is really more of a sister than a friend) and she gets to bring a friend with her to work as well. What a great first job. I start a new Job (full time) on Aug 6th. DS is in orientation for a job with a big company with great benefits and pay for Granddaughter and DIL, Granddaughter is beautiful and doing very well and DH is at an interview for a better job as I type. A lady across the lake took all but two cockerels off my hands and another one is spoken for. God is good. and the world is a wonderful place. :yesss:

That’s awesome! Glad you know what you’re getting into haha. I’m personally not a fan of the flightier rodents, that’s why I like rats so much. They’re chill and don’t act like idiots.
If your daughter happens to not get along with gerbils for whatever reason, she should look into them!

I saw the CUTEST little blue hooded rat at the reptile store yesterday. He was a in the feeder tanks but they sell them as pets too. He was the most gorgeous little dumbo though, you would’ve loved him. ;)
:lau Before the hammie she was begging for a rat. I ALMOST let her have one but what deterred me was the size housing the need. We have two dogs and a huge fish tank and 4 people crammed into my tiny little 1100 sq ft pad and I just couldn't figure out how to fit something that size. Little bear our Syrian ended up getting an entire 40g breeder to himself which was bad enough. That's what I'm taking to the lps to get rid of. I'm so ready for it to be gone. Anyway I hope the gerbil works out. I think they are less bitey than the dwarf hamsters which is what we were thinking of so we are going to try it out.itll be loved more than most I know so a least there's that as a silver lining.

Dwarf hamsters are not friendly and known to bite. Definitely not the same as a teddy bear hamster in terms of personality. The gerbil is most certainly a more reliable option as a gentle rodent for a pet.

We lived in 900 sq ft til I was 12 and I thought it was a big house. There were 5 of us and my Daddy ran his business out of it as well. LOL
