➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

So proud of you! You Rock!

I am incubating duck eggs too. Yours are growing nicely!
When day 27 comes, stop rotating the eggs, do not candle....I know it will be hard.
Some say stop moving them at internal pip, but the embryo needs to settle for hatching.
Unlike chick eggs, ducks can take up to two days to get out of their shell after external pip. The duckling will be vocal and then quiet for long periods of time.
This can be very distressful to us, but necessary for the baby to build strength to break out of the hard shell.
The reward is worth it!
What! I'm not going to be able to candle them...that's going to be way worse than it is now. I might really die.

I'm counting on someone to tell me when day 27 is. I'll get pics again this morning too. I'm trying to wake up.

Morning. I'm slept late! I'm going to cancel in a minute.

@aart @biophiliac @WVduckchick y'all mean when I go back to the store I have to ask them about these eggs. The don't speak English!!!. I'm not going to understand anything.

I'll try though. I'm guessing they open at 9. Sundays are big days for Vietnamese....they party after church so maybe I can spot a shopper who can translate for me.

:D they probably will have no clue anyway.

You will likely just have to watch for internal pips or drawdown. Good excuse for candling. ;)
