Oops!I can't believe @Tesumph got me to take pics of a cat's arse and then didn't even confirm is gender for me!
Wow! How cool is this?!
Ahem well, since you asked, I am a “zooarchaeologist.” I study animal bones found at archaeological sites. And I use the information I gather to understand past environments, people’s diet, hunting methods, religious practices etc. etc.@CSAchook you win for coolest job award! What exactly do you study? Do you have like a specialty?
Right?! So cool! You people are all unique and inspiringI love this site!So many different people (with vastly different professions) all joined together because we love birds. It's incredible.
Anthropologists study people. The field of anthropology is made up of four sub-fields: ethnography, linguistics, biological/evolutionary anthropology, and archaeology. Linguist study language, bio/ev anthro focuses on human biology and evolution, ethnologists study the cultures of living people, and archaeologists study ancient “material culture” ie people’s stuff. Bones are a type of stuff.I just want to make sure I got it straight...
Is anthropology the study of people/ bones and archaeology the study of artifacts or is it the other way around?
Anthrolopology is the study of people and cultures I believe... googling to confirm... and yes! That is correct!
