I can’t draw at all so I’m taking Art History instead.
Bleh. I thought about taking art history but ended up in Drawing 1, figured how bad can it be.
Well, VERY bad actually. The teacher was a sweetheart and accommodated me while I stumbled through that semester (the semester my seizures were out of control), but wow the class was dead. Thankfully my brother-in-law accidentally ended up in the same class so I had someone to banter with.

Art history is much better than taking college level art classes. I HATED all my college art classes. I didn't draw a single thing for almost a decade after college. Kinda like I stopped reading books for awhile after college. When you have to do it, it kinda takes the joy out.
Art history, on the other hand, is actually interesting!
Forced prompts really do suck the life out of you after a while. I took art classes in highschool for a short time and my teacher was awesome, really leveled with me and my art and was a total hoot.
My college art teacher, sweet as she was, outright told me early on (privately) that I personally wasn’t going to get anything out of the class but she would try and make it interesting for me anyway. Oh, okay then? It was an interesting experience, at least.
The only thing I really like about art classes is that it forces you to work on things, so at least I have some work I’m proud of when it’s all said and done.

Favorite thing to doodle.

It's also really disheartening when art projects are graded. I had some amazing teachers in high school. The same cannot be said for college. I hated all of them.
Giving the kids that could't draw for crap A's for "trying" but putting a minus behind anything I did because, "you can do better". Well. Maybe if I had something more interesting than a still life light bulb to draw, I would be more interested...
But I'm not bitter or anything
