Y'all! Thanks to a facebooker I learned which birds are used for feather hair extensions! They are called genetic hackle bred roosters. Or just genetic hackle roosters. You've got to look them up if you haven't seen them. They're incredible! They're also used for fly fishing lures. And it is true the birds are harvested and skinned to collect the feathers!:hit

Wow, that was a trip down memory lane looking for old pictures. Found two of the dresses I made. The first pic was with the guy I did competitive dancing with. The other two was one of my favorite dresses, I actually did wear it as a bridesmaid dress for a friends wedding. The Last pic was a throwback several hundred pages ago to the nickname conversation. This was the sea rag era haircut. LOL

:oldWell.... I'm not sure if it's textbook or true to definition quilting honestly. You actually make the blocks individually with a back, batting and the top. You machine sew diagonally from right top corner to left lower and left upper to right lower. Once you love made all your squares, you lay two back to back and see one edge together leaving about an inch of an edge to stick out toward the front. You continue this until you have a row, then connect the rows the same way. I guess the diagonal seams would be the only quilting (???:idunno) but it's all done by machine. One it's all out together you cut up those inch overhangs of fabric and tiny strips and was and dry it to get it to fray. I believe it would be really neat to quilt the individual squares with more intricate details, but I stuck to the super simple.

I'd love to see some of those country dresses and see if they match the images in my head! :fl
