I wouldn't have even asked...I would have walked over and cleaned it myself.
The OP clarified that the red tub stuff was some kind of barley/calf mixture intended as a treat.

Not bad.We were advised to do independent flock so it was $100, plus $35 to P-T test the birds.![]()

Yeah I was surprised at how affordable it actually was.Not bad.
WI is probably a lot more expensive because that is typical WI fashion.
Have almost no laws or very lax laws but charge or fine a fortune for the few they do enforce.
Agreed! It looks THICK!OMG, don't want to be mean, but that water does look like an outhouse.

Incubators are simple. Unless you're lazy like me or excessively creative like my dad.8 eggs started. 1 was eaten on day 1.
7 eggs candled sometime between day 10 and 15. They will hatch this month.
1 real clear - pulled.
1 had a little blob - pulled. I'll open these this weekend.
1 with half a blob. Need to look at that one closer. We will call it runt. Guessing it also quit.
4 with huge, massive blobs. Looks like everything is fine and on track according to Pugsy's chart. I'm hoping for all girls. I know Kiki is gonna jinx me when 4 yellows pop out. Best outcome will be 4 Australorp girls.
How long do you stare at the blobs before they move? Couple of minutes and these didn't appear to budge.
Other hen got on roost. Glad we didn't get another broody.
Incubators:
I decided they couldn't be that simple. Well, they are. Cyprus' box. Kiki's frankenbator. Bada bing, bada boom. Done. Winter project to go along with quail run/habitat. I wanted this on north side of garage. Looks like it will need more sun. Really liking the cattle panel greenhouse and quail habitat idea and looks.
For home, how many quail do you normally need? Guess this will be limiting factor on bator size. Bring in new stock every 2 years. I'm getting a plan.
@KikisGirls - were you considering doing meat chickens this year?
@PirateGirl - requesting a sunflower update. How'd they do? the BOSS ones the chickens planted got 1 foot tall, flowered and are withering in the heat.
Let the old dog sniff it and then let him go. He was a cute little bugger, I don’t know how the Ginger spotted him in the grass haha.Oh my gosh! How adorable! What did you do with it?
