➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Barnyard surprise. Free eggs from Chicken Rancher just to see if broody would hatch. This is #2 broody.

When I introduced EE chicks to first broody in spring, she kept pecking. I tried 3 times and pulled them.

I pulled the shrink wrap off already thinking it was ready. It kicked once and didn't move much. Yes, #3 is breathing. #4 shoved the beak through the pip. I left it for now. So 3 live chicks. At the moment.
Broody probably freaked out.
No work today.
Must keep an eye on the babies!
Broodies kill!

Button quail chicks are out of the incubator! Final count: 15 Coturnix and 3 Button quail. I love how the buttons keep shoving themselves underneath the coturnix chicks.

What do these babies look like today?

On the "dinner vs supper" subject...
Hubby is from England, bred and borne. They have Tea at 5 or 6 in the evening. Supper is the meal you have just before retiring to bed. Now that he live in the US he calls Tea "Dinner" and still indulges in English "Supper".
They drink hot tea before they eat their last big meal of the day (dinner!) ??

NUTTY!
You got your Australorps!!!!
Yep. Sure looks like it! As according to the prophecy.

2 little fluffy butts bouncing around looking in good health. We will see what Momma does today.

One with a small yellow dot on the head and eyeliner.
One with a large yellow dot on the head.
You're gonna tell me I have a cockerel, aren't you?
