➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

If the dish of water is in your incubator, you are putting water in the incubator. It becomes a vapor and gets everywhere inside the incubator. Everything ends up with the deposits that are left behind from the solids in the water drying out.
Would washing the bator after each hatch eliminate the potential build up?

It doesn't seem to look like the disease. Though as @Tesumph said, it doesn't always affect the opticals but I wanted to rule out that potential strain first.
Only one of the four types of mareks is ocular, I would guess Cy’s bird does not have that. If anything I would say it’s the neural form.

It can help especially if you use vinegar to dissolve the deposits. If your tap or well water has a high TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) you are way ahead of the game by using distilled, R/O or DI (deionized) water. I normally get my distilled water for $0.81 a gallon unless it is on sale. I go through probably 12 gallons in a normal year.

You need to do a thorough cleaning of your incubator after each use especially if you are using it as a hatcher. The dander from the chicks hatching will get into everything and eventually cause the incubator to stop working properly.

The only "thing" inside my bator is the heating element thing.
I did not wash that part when I washed it...should I have?
