➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Also not to be mean but I don't get why people get animals if they can't or won't take care of them and/or can't afford them. Food stamps don't cover chicken food so you can't buy it? Well then maybe you shouldn't have chickens. Sorry, that sounds really mean but it's true.
I was thinking the exact same thing.

I’m allergic to oil paints but I’ve always wanted to try them. Are they fun? How do they compare to acrylic and watercolor?
They're extremely different. I had a bit of trouble at first because I kept using them like watercolours. They work best with thick application and implied detail, which I struggle with. I keep wanting to smooth my brushstrokes out, but that ends up looking forced and weird. I like them though, more so than acrylic.

I caught up to yesterday morning. Being sick for three weeks , losing 12 pounds, I have enjoyed trying to keep up. The discussion on Merek's and the articles are interesting.
My plans today were to do some deep house cleaning for a family visit Sept 23rd, but best plans soon get moved back when this happens...windfall apples need processing ...today! That is about 9 gallons of apples to wash and pare. I'll be busy making apple butter and applesauce.
See ya'll later.

I used to do that when I lived in the US. Kroger sold suet dirt cheap. I'd take it home, render it, add peanut butter and bird seed. Freeze it until needed. We got so many different wild birds in! I loved just sitting there for hours, watching. I can't get suet like that in Canada. The only thing I can find is commercially packaged shredded stuff that costs a bloody fortune.
(This is for feeding wild birds btw, not chickens).
Are you from the US or Canada? I'm wondering, if you are from here, what made you move there.

The worst part is how hard the paint is to get off brushes. Odourless turpentine is a lifesaver.
Have you tried straight dish washing soap? It has worked for me with any kind of paint. Just apply it to the brush, work it in with your fingers and rinse off with running water. Repeat if needed.
