@casportpony The Light Brahma hen laid an egg today! It's chalky and have a lot of speckling to it but has a nice thick shell. Should I continue to give her the calcium citrate or wait and see if she starts laying the thin shells again?

Neat! I have a free quail and pheasant egg source so I am thinking of trying quail next year. Hoping to use one of my many insane broody Bantam Cochins.Yes, it’s mostly why I started raising them. But I actually love their eggs too. And quail tv is always fun.
Congrats! I have to ask, though, just how does one lose a check with that much money? And forget about it?Today is my lucky day I guess.
Decided to get off my arse and clean my room. While cleaning a found a $200 check made out to me that is still valid!![]()
I misplaced it after receiving it then left the country for two weeks and forgot about it. Now it will be part of my necropsy fund.Congrats! I have to ask, though, just how does one lose a check with that much money? And forget about it?
Okay that makes sense! You probably thought that you would look for it when you got back and then promptly forgot about it. It sounds like something I would do. My biggest 'find' was $20.I misplaced it after receiving it then left the country for two weeks and forgot about it. Now it will be part of my necropsy fund.
Not to brag or anything (just felt like saying it) but I found $70 in cash in my backpack leftover from my trip that I forgot about O.OOkay that makes sense! They are similar taste to a chicken egg I find. But maybe a bit more yolk to white ratio than a chicken egg has.Neat! I have a free quail and pheasant egg source so I am thinking of trying quail next year. Hoping to use one of my many insane broody Bantam Cochins.
I love how pretty their tiny little eggs are and I can't wait to eat some! Do they taste much different than chicken eggs? Duck eggs? I freaking love duck eggs... my personal favorite so far.
I also love hard boiling them and having little bite sized snacks on hand. They are similar taste to a chicken egg I find. But maybe a bit more yolk to white ratio than a chicken egg has.
I literally cannot wait til Easter so I can dye the cute speckled eggs every colour of the rainbow!
Hm, not sure, I've only had PCs for a year and a half. In chickens in general though, I've never had one go broody after they stopped laying. After they slowed, sure.Hey @BantyChooks I have a question for you. If a PC is slowing down laying or stopping due to age, is the tendency to go broody still there?

Also, if you like root beer floats, you should have one once in a while. No reason not to. A Frosty from Wendy's? Dip your fries in it! Do it every now and then if you want. Just don't do it all the time. Cutting out treats entirely is not only lame, it's not a real solution.
