➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Speaking of Fluffies.... My Sillkie keeps getting poo glued pine shavings stuck to her feet. :barnie Poor thing! I end up running some lukewarm water and rinsing her feet off. I've only had to mess with Elvis once, and that wasn't even his feet. It was because some cecal (however it's spelled) poo stuck in the fluff around his vent. :sick So I need to keep an eye out for that.

I'm sure I'll get to the point where I set them and forget about them but I'm still learning. Hands on learning is better for me.

It's very cool to look into the eggs and see the daily changes too.
It is much easier to notice the differences if you candle less frequently.

The main thing to remember is that no one is posting about the ideal amount of area required. They all post the minimum required space. Aiming for at least double the minimum is a good idea and making it even bigger than that can save a lot of expense down the road after chicken math has kicked in.
:goodpost:
My birds were the calmest and I think the happiest when I had almost 13 square feet per bird in the coop.

Yeah, I understand. We're gonna have to build another coop. :gig

Got a super soft funky egg today. Is my first one since the girls have been laying. I have oyster shell out for them but it’s getting a little low in their bowl so I am going to go fill it up again. I am assuming it’s the chick that is newly laying. The other 3 haven’t had any problems. Is just new to me and thought that I’d share.

Makes me wonder how the heck she got that out of her body without breaking or tearing.

They advertise on radio about property? I don't listen to radio much so maybe I miss it ha but it's an event right? Lots of properties? I think it said there was a sale Saturday.

And yeah me neither but I thought some of them were really gorgeous, especially the WV one. And sadly those aren't even that bad cause around here there's a lot for 1 and 2 million or more and really not many below like 400 or 500. A lot are like 600 or 700. For tiny lots too.

Yup. They do here. Not for your every day house hunters, like local realty. But for land plots by big developments like that they will. They always sound so cheap and I think to myself, man if only I had the ability/finances. But they're usually out in East TN, which is beautiful. I'm in Middle TN, so they're @ 3-4hr drive away and just isn't feasible for me.[/QUOTE]

That makes sense. And yeah, they seem really cheap. And definitely pretty. Maybe you should sell and move :p

But then again, I don't like buying in a development. Not developed yet but I think it said it's gated and they have a marina and other stuff it listed so aka probably gonna be a bunch of rich people building estates or developers buying it. Although it might be good to buy it really cheap and then sell it in a few years once it's developed and worth over a million :p
