You are worth a lot.Why am I being traded like a fantasy football player?
I hope so! If they survived all the shipping and room temperature storage, they have to be pretty hardy.I wonder if my balut chicks are going to be hardier...is that the word I am looking for?
I'm still not awake.

@LittleChicks4Me:
I'm so sorry for your chick.
But, I don't think you did anything wrong, and I would hate for your take-away to be that you were a bad chicken mom, and should have been opening up those eggs up yesterday. I have not seen anyone, anywhere advise opening a shell for a chick that has not gone at least the full 21 days and has not begun the pipping process.
Sadly, it is not uncommon for chicks to die in the last 3 days before hatching. Some are not genetically sound, an infection might have set in. Something in the humidity might not have been quite right for that chick. But the bottom line is that if a chick is not strong and healthy enough to move itself into the proper position for hatching and begin pipping, it is highly, highly unlikely you could have done anything to save it. You have to weight the 1 and 1,000 chance you would have saved the chick against the far greater risk that your early intervention would have killed the chick. I know we like to think we are in complete control, but we are not.
There is an excellent article someone wrote for BYC on when and how to assist in hatching. https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/step-by-step-guide-to-assisted-hatching.64660/
Hoping your last little chick is out of the shell soon.
Get a trash can.I think I am going to puke.
How much could ghetto possible raise my light bill?But I'm sure the electric bill will be much higher if I get a ghetto bator going because there's no way it would be operating at optimum efficiency!
