➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I did that purposely lol. I didn’t want to bug her.

Ohhh okay lol sorry. I wondered if maybe it was on purpose but wasn't sure if it was or wasn't.

:lau Nope, I just feel comfortable, feeling comfortable. Nothing beats an old pair of cut offs & flip flops & graphic tee's are soooooo comfortable. I'm pretty sure I look like a slob that doesn't dress my age, but I just don't care. :bun :lau

Lol i love t shirts

YAY! I'm so glad you were able to confirm I did get some Brahmas at least. I think I might make a thread about them and post pictures weekly to show them growing up.

Good idea

Those are what I think of when people say flip flops.
They need a new name...shower shoes is a good one.
:sick
I used to wear those until I started having foot pain. They were pretty flimsy—I'd usually wear through a pair in a summer, and by 'wear through' I mean that literally.

As to whether they are blue partridge, there is no way to know at this age, not unless they came out of a pen with a partridge male over splash hens, or vice versa. They could be partridge or blue partridge, but you can't see that until they feather in pretty well in a few weeks. I can't see the combs, but they seem to be pea combs so that would mean Brahmas rather than partridge Cochins. Blue works the same in the partridge as it does in normal blue, black, splash, with the black being a straight partridge, or gold, as they say across the pond. The partridge is just an added pattern that makes it difficult to see if a chick is blue partridge or straight partridge. Hope this makes sense. Enjoy them!

Feel free to visit my own thread about mine, starting at hatch (they are just over 2 yedars old now). https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...blue-partridge-x-partridge-plus-dark.1116350/

@CrazyCrttr75 I was just wondering how your ducks were doing!

They are doing really good. Just when I think all of the pullets have finally worked out all of their plumbing issues they prove me wrong. I am so impatient! LOL I'm definitely racking up on the eggs tho. Already given a dozen away to my father-in-law. The littles are doing great! I am going to take some updated pics tomorrow. They are 1 month old now. Elvis is definitely an Elvis. His comb is already turning pink. He is the Booted Bantam D'Uccle. I think he and the Silkie are boys. They are always sparring, trying to see who is gonna be top dog. Of course you can't tell if the Silkie is a boy or not but I am just making that assumption. They might spar a little with the other 2 but it's not nearly as often. I always thought and read that Silkies are sweet and cuddly little mops of fluff. Pfft! The Silkie is a little brat and instigates most of it. I haven't figured out a name for him yet. Priscilla, the golden one (buff orpington), is definitely our favorite. She is super sweet and cuddly and fluffy. She likes to perch on my shoulder and just lay there. I am pretty sure she is female but of course, it's way too early to tell for sure. The last one I am leaning towards it being female as well but I am not confident at all. Tentatively called Lisa-Marie, is sweet. Likes to perch on my shoulder as well. I love the coloring on it that is coming in. I still can't pin point to what breed she is. I'm not convinced EE. Her legs are yellow and then there is the single comb, which was said that it's not unheard of, albeit not necessarily common. I have a breed that I'm leaning towards but idk. I think she is a cutie pie. Yeah, I went with an Elvis theme LOL. I'll get pics tomorrow. The ducks are doing awesome. Xena is trying to mimic the little mallard, Luna, in testing her wings (I haven't clipped one of Luna's wings yet. She stays close for now but will probably do so soon). She can't fly as well as Luna tho. Just a few feet. Even the Pekin try to get lift off but it turns in to more of a hover-hop. They don't get very far lol. I ended up taking a spill down my porch steps. That was not fun. Was taking my dogs (I have 3) out to go potty earlier on in the week and somehow one of their leashes got under one of my feet and tripped me up. And with all of the rain we've had the wooden steps were slick. Woosh I went down and landed pretty hard. I ended up going to the dr to get an xray of my arm to make sure I didn't fracture anything and thankfully nothing is broken. I am just sore and black and blue. It definitely could've been worse. I am trying to catch up on the thread. I'm back on pg. 2878. I haven't been on much here lately. I hope you all are doing well!

You guys I ****ed up :hit
I was away for the weekend and I came back today to all the younger quails that were outside dead except one including my lovely pastel! There was a storm last night and they may have gotten chilled although they were feathered.
I plopped the live one who was quite lethargic in the brooder to warm her quickly. She’s since started eating and drinking and moving about.
I don’t think it’s safe to leave her there with the littles, so I’ll set her up a spot but I don’t want her to be alone either.
