I just set my first homegrown quail eggs this morning!

This was him 2 weeks ago.

Foundation is in, but failed the inspection. Stupid contractor backfilled with no water proofing or weeping system in place. Had to dig it all back out. I've got the tarring done, and just waiting for gravel for the weeper.

Failed the soil test for the septic because of sand instead of silt. Waiting for test results on new location.
House is scheduled to be placed on the 5th.

Wow, the black ones look like silver laced something to me. Definitely single combs, too. That's the way my silver laced Wyandottes started out as chicks and the lacing develops over time as they mature.

I was thinking the same. Definitely not the partridge Brahmas that she ordered.

No I missed it popping out but yes one girl was pacing a lot today so I think this third one is hers.



It's the best meat I have ever tasted. We cooked the whole quail first, the deboned them and wrapped the meat with a japlapeno cheese and bacon.


I take the bacon off mine.

On the bbq pit.
Then we deboned it and wrapped it with jalapeño, cheese and bacon and put it back on the grill.
