It does work pretty darn well. I had a few females who were practically scalped due to male over-attention, and most of them you can't even tell they were injured the skin and feathers grew back completely

I've used vetericyn. One hen I used it on had nearly all the flesh on her side torn off after a dog attack. She healed fine, albeit with a limp. Might have healed just as well without it---I don't know.
