➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Early neutering of large breed dogs can lead to growth issues. Male dogs of breeds prone to hip dysplasia and other joint problems are often neutered around 2 years old as they do indeed need certain sex hormones to properly fill out.
I sell all my puppies on spay and neuter contracts. I don’t allow it t be done until 2 years old. I have not had a problem in the twenty years I have been breeding with anyone breaching my contract.

Hopefully she went on home, maybe she was exploring the neighborhood. ;) Our cat is an indoor/outdoor though more indoor now that he’s 15.
I hope so but it’s unlikely. We’re not in a neighborhood, we’re on 40 acres surrounded by farmland. The strays that turn up here are (I suspect) kittens from stray/barn cats and pet dogs that are dumped.
There’s a neighborhood down the road so it doesn’t hurt to look, but I’ve never successfully returned a stray to its original home. :(

My day just hit disaster. Very, very quickly.

I just found the only two chickens I cared about dead and mauled, pulled through the wire of their coop.

I. Am. A. Mess. I cannot pull myself together, I can't stop crying and I'm losing my mind :hit
The only birds I cared about, dead. :hit :hit
I'm so sorry :hit:hugs:hugs
I'm so sorry :hit :hugs it seems they always tske the favorite ones; I lost my favorite hen to a hawk last fall so I somewhat know how you feel. I'm sorry :hit
It's always the favorite one, or the one that was named. That's why growing up we never gave the chickens names, because a bobcat or raccoon would show up and we'd lose the named one and more.

Kiki,
I feel like this place could use a little good news. It looks like I have SF Jr. and he has five girl friends. One of them finally got a drake curl!

They are getting braver and swimming out into the middle of the pond and doing duck things! They are so fun to watch. When they dive down sometimes it looks like they got yanked down by their feet. LOL

Our Swedish Duck hen is having seizures. She gets supplemented niacin, and she’s on gamebird feed so it wouldn’t think it would be that. She flops over on her back and freaks out.

Who was it that had the seizure duck hen again?
Tennessee
