➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Unknown. Ideal Hatchery says their Ameraucanas, known as the "Easter Egg Breed", are excellent layers. I'll report back. 3 colored pullet eggs yesterday. Another is paying rent! Truth be told, these are looking more greenish than blue to me. Leghorn egg for size comparison.

Also, one of the beardless pullets appears to have white ear lobes. When I can catch her, I will be taking pictures.

If they don't also sell Easter Eggers then they're Ameraucanas are probably Easter Eggers. Especially since it says they can lay green eggs on the site and says the birds are multicolored.

"AMERAUCANAS

Ameraucanas, known as the "Easter Egg Breed", are a multicolored breed. They have beards, muffs and a normal tail with a tail head. They are often incorrectly called Araucanas, which have ear tuffs, are rumpless, and do not have a tail head which gives them a bunny tail appearance. Most of the chicks sold as Araucanas are really Ameraucanas, which are excellent, efficient producers of large eggs of many colors and shades including blue and green.

Standard weights at maturity are males-5 lbs. and hens-4 lbs."

The pictures also look like Easter Eggers, the chipmunk chicks and stuff. True Ameracaunas only lay blue eggs and they would not be multicolored or sold as just "Ameraucana"; they only come in certain acceptable colors so would be sold as such. I think some of the colors are black, blue, splash, buff, etc., I will find a list.

Our Lily is missing her buddy Red. She has parked herself on his favorite spot on the treadmill by the window.
It is hard to see her grieving.
Lily knew he was failing and stayed close to him and would whine when Red moved on his bed.
Red has been in declining health the past 6 months and this morning it was time to let Red join the other pets/babies that have graced our family with their love and devotion.
It is hard, but we must make that decision so a beloved pet no longer suffers.
A year ago today, we let Gracie go. Now Red has joined her. Bet they are running and romping together at the Rainbow Bridge.

Of course, Ruby just decided to hang out on the dog loveseat.

They are definitely Easter Eggers, and apparently we have lousy luck when it comes to their “pullets” because 2/3 have been male.

My two easter eggers came from Ideal but are lousy layers. I would love to have blue or even green eggs but not worth getting more and trying again and winding up with stew birds! (I talk big, both mine are still out there on the free food program)
:lau
Are they old?

Those puppies were lucky to have shared their lives with you. Now they are together again.
