Nope. I directly sowed them. I think it was late April or early May.Did you start from seed indoors, then transplant? If so, when did you get them started? My favorite pumpkin farm is here in Port Orchard so I know that they grow here, but my concern is always timing. Oh, and space!
Holy crap. He's going to be a monster! I'm excited to see pics when he is fully developed. He's going to be so majestic.Approximately 70 lbs. He's probably got another 40 or more to go.
The stalks are my favourite part. Same with broccoli. Not only does it take years to harvest, but it also tries to warn you to stay away by tasting awful! I can choke down the tips, but those stalks... BLECH.
Super easy. You just pick a place and mark it out, plant the little root boys bits, and water every once and again. Then, if you're like me, eventually you'll forget they are even there until spring when they start growing like crazy. They form a plant that looks like a mix of a fern and baby's breath. I think I only purposely watered mine twice the first year and completely forgot I even planted them.I don't know why, but I'm really hesitant to grow asparagus. It's my most favourite vegetable. I know it takes a few years before harvest. How exactly do you grow it?
Does he ever go inside the house?Approximately 70 lbs. He's probably got another 40 or more to go.
Thanks!Nope. I directly sowed them. I think it was late April or early May.
Add more bacon. Guaranteed to fix any food flaws. Not only does it take years to harvest, but it also tries to warn you to stay away by tasting awful! I can choke down the tips, but those stalks... BLECH.
We've started letting him in to a portioned off section of our closed in porch when it's really cold or wet. He won't go in the house we have for him, the silly Pucker.Does he ever go inside the house?
Your logic is sound. I'd still rather just eat broccoli. Or Cauliflower. Or beans. I love most veggies, but asparagus is just nasty.Add more bacon. Guaranteed to fix any food flaws.
