I can't even get behind it for dogs. The only part that makes any sense to me is making sure you have permission from a landlord if you do not own your home, which is what the Humane Society does. There are a lot of great rescue organizations, but not many of them outside the Humane Society exist in Washington anymore.
The rescue folks here are out of their minds. They typically don't even let you pick your own dog. Instead, they have you fill out an application and they match you up. This can take months. Then, they demand to come to your home to make sure that your living space meets their insane standards. They have dogs in foster care for years because they don't think anyone is good enough. I find the whole thing decidedly off putting. That being said, there are a ton of fantastic groups out there that do amazing things for abused, abandoned, and mistreated animals. I support them fully!

Wow that is crazy!! They don’t let you choose your own dogs!? I am glad ours are not that crazy. But they are a little crazy. Most want like $600 and here there are a ton of different rescue groups but almost all of them ship dogs up from the south which is part of why the cost is so high. I’m convinced they are actually selling dogs. And so many require fenced yards or all your pets to be fixed and have all shots. We do shots anyway but some believe in minimal vaccination or raw feed and I have read some rescues won’t adopt to people who don’t do every vaccine or who raw feed. So stupid lol they try to control everything.

Exactly. Their way is the only way and no one else is good enough or abusive or whatever. I am convinced they don’t want the dogs adopted.

Agreed. I'm very thankful to have a lovely local rescue that has realistic standards. Surprise surprise... the dogs actually get homes!

For the record I don't dub anymore myself. I know people that frankly are better than I am so they do it. The way I described is both how I and a friend both trim with the same scissors.

Nahh, I was mostly just joking. I picked her up and started asking her what she would think if we got a brother and she screamed and meowed like 3 times and I was like no? You don’t like that idea? I think she mostly just didn’t want to be held anymore and wanted to be put down/was mad I wasn’t and probably didn’t even understand what I was saying but I was just joking that she didn’t like the brother idea cause it was funny, at least to me, she did that right after I asked her lol

Our cat hates other cats which is fine by us. I like cats don’t get me wrong, but they just get on everything they aren’t supposed to. Our cat was raised with dogs so he’s pretty sure he’s part dog
