➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Reminds me of this lol

(Sorry room onthebroom, hope you don’t mind me sharing this here  it’s just you were both talking about poop on the walls so it reminded me :lau  :sick )
I bet Roomy will confirm that ducks poop everywhere.
I don't understand how someone could have a house duck.
I can't imagine how many times they have to clean up poop each hour.

I mean, you also change the quail’s paper towels every 15 minutes soooo.... :lau

But seriously that is disgusting. LOL

Quail poop and duck poop are very different.
I almost died cleaning up after just two balutties.
It was nasty.

Don’t get them. I promise you, the mess they make isn’t worth it. Plus the cuteness wears off quickly after they start getting bigger. Same goes for geese.
I respectfully disagree, though your argument is sound if you don't have the right setup and are comparing them to chickens. If you brood ducklings outside, a secure grow out pen, and have a good landscape for them (say, a little creek and pond), they are the easiest animals ever. I also love how much they poop. I clean out their pen every spring and apply all that good stuff directly to my garden. Their poo isn't hot like chickens so you don't need to compost it for a year before using. Plus, I've literally NEVER lost one to illness. Not one. Not even a duckling.
