I hate thunderstorms when I'm trying to sleep. All of the bedrooms are upstairs in our house and there is a massive oak tree close enough to entirely take out the kids' room. So, I get to decide whether it's bad enough to wake them to come downstairs knowing that it's going to make them completely unreasonable people the next day or let them sleep. This is the kind of crap nobody tells you about before you have kids.

Oh wow that is scary!!! We have some huge pines next to some rooms including my old room but my current one isn’t near any thankfully. Our bedrooms are upstairs too.

Y'all are making me gag this morning. I am such a wuss these days I get deathly ill if I just drink a couple of beers.

Taste is dependent on a lot of things. As with all things, the ingredients determine the outcome. Some years are better than others. Whisky is blended to taste the same year after year. Most people will argue over that one too. The consumer likes predictability. Hence the burger chains all over the world. The local talent has more latitude to vary with the seasons. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good.

Also...I just always thought that whiskey was just whiskey. If let's say, vodka, is made from potatoes... then it doesn't fit the definition above, right? Since it's not grain?
