Sleep tight!
Thanks
If she responds to this I am going to die.

Definitely not for everybody! For me, it was perfect.
That’s awesome!!

Barn cat wasn't particular...dry food, mice, chicken scraps...
Our gray barn kitty hasn't stopped by in a few weeks.... think the coyotes got him.
I was putting food in the bowl in the barn and it was disappearing so we just thought we were simply missing his food visits.
So I set up the animal camera and got pictures of a possum, a raccoon, a skunk and a yellow tabby cat visiting the bowl.
We secured all possible access points, stopped the raccoon and possum from coming in the barn. Now we think the skunk has a nest under the lumber stack in the back of the barn because it still visits the food bowl.
The yellow cat still crawls under the barn door to get to the feed.
Tonight I set a live trap for the skunk and put the food dish up higher off the floor for the cat and set up the camera again.
Here Kitty, kitty, kitty!
Will report in the morning the results.
Aww poor kitty hope he’s okay
My uncle has lost most of his flock to coons this week. They ripped through the wood siding on the coop and just killed the chickens, didn’t even eat any of the meat off of them. They’re the worst
That’s awful.

That's terrible.
They're so darn cute, it's too bad they're so evil.

That's awful! We have a lot of predators around here. We just saw the resident bobcat around dusk crossing from one forested area to another at the edge of the yard. We know it's around and this is hardly new but seeing it always puts my hair on end.
That’s scary!! We have a fox that’s been jumping on top of the chicken run almost every day or at least once a week and scaring the living daylights out of them ha
Tell us you trapped him last night.![]()

Got the skunk! Only two pictures on the animal cam at 4:04 am
It rained last night...guessing that is why the cat didn't visit the barn.
Going to my younger sister's home to help her in her garden and taking her more compost. She is still in a sling since shoulder reconstruction.
Bbl
Aw maybe tonight.
We don't leave food out at night around here. The food dish goes on the deck right next to the house while my coffee brews and the dish gets brought in at dusk when I'm cleaning up the after-dinner mess.
Otherwise, we're feeding every critter within a mile or five. And I know because I've collected the dish with a broom in hand to fend off an opossum and raccoons back before we learned.
I've watched some YouTube videos on making raccoon-proof feeders. It's essentially relying on a cat being able to jump and raccoons/skunks/opossums being rather limited in that regard. The one thing that strikes me as a design flaw is that none of them seem to try to make the pole itself climb-resistant. I'd trim the 4*4 post down enough to slide a piece of pvc drain pipe over it so the suckers can't easily get up there to try and reach the skirted edge.
I haven't built one, though. Mostly because I fear that even with every other trick, foxes can jump as well as a cat and I'd still be feeding them.
Oh wow that’s scary but that sounds like a good way
Umm coons go up and down my down spout to the house roof... were going in the attic through the power vent.
They also jump from tree limbs between trees. They jump pretty far when I have a pitch fork too
Wow they are agile!
The have good horizontal jumping distance, not so good on the vertical. So, yeah, the idea is to put it somewhere pretty open so going up is the only option and then make that hard to do.
They put metal skirting around the platform part that the raccoon has to reach around. So, it's holding onto a wooden post with its feet while trying to reach around. It just seems so obvious to me that making that post harder to hold onto would help.
That’s true. Reminds me of this video lol
Wow that’s awful.
I couldn't even finish it, it all makes me so angry.
Same.
The problem I see with this is that it puts all the responsibility on the company. People need to step up and be responsible for what they eat. It's not like the company is forcing people to eat their food, people are choosing it because they like the taste/price/convenience. People are still going to get obese unless they make smarter decisions.
That is true and a good point but at the same time, they should not be bringing a boat through the jungle and trying to sell it to villagers and stuff. They are literally actively seeking out people to target. And most of these people don’t know any better. They see the logo or name brand in movies or whatever and think anything American is really cool, not just food and beverages, so of course they will want to buy it and have it. And most of them don’t know that it’s bad for them and/or can’t necessarily read the ingredients or any English themselves. They just see something novel and cool and American. So in that regard I do think they are kind of taking advantage of that and targeting these people who don’t know any better and that’s not fair, even sick imo.
But yes, for people who do speak English and/or know better, they should do their own research and make choices and avoid it. I admit I’m guilty of buying crap. I don’t really buy anything too bad anymore like Little Debby or coke or anything anymore but look at what I bought yesterday, most of it isn’t exactly healthy. So I’m guilty of that too. And we’re lucky, we know better and can research, but a lot of people can’t or the kids see it in a movie or something and think it’s cool and will buy it and the companies know that and take advantage of that. So I think it is largely the companies fault at least in way out of the way/remote areas like that.
True, people are incharge of their own destinies
BUT trying to eat this junk once a week, even the processed stuff that's marketed as healthy, starts a craving that is hard to resist. I read a study that people with addictive personalities, it acts same as a drug. I know I just can't have one.... so I stay away from it all. Builds character to resist temptation.
This is true too and I am the same way. I can’t just have one and usually stuff is gone either same day, next day, or within a few days or week. And I definitely have an addictive personality hahah already addicted to junk food/sugar, phone/internet, etc. and I am sure if I tried alcohol or cigarettes I would be too but I hate those so. But my dad is addicted to cigarettes and my brother used to be too but isn’t really now though he does use the juul a lot and my mom it’s alcohol and also junk collecting lol and the alcoholism is also on my dad’s side, his father was an alcoholic and I think died of it, and his brother and his whole family are all alcoholics too and his brother smokes too. So I just don’t touch it after seeing what it does. Although that said I was also addicted to something probably worse for a while but that’s been almost 5 years. And no not drugs lol
