The egg color is why I was choosing the Maran. I was wanting to add a darker brown colored egg to my egg basket. So I guess that is why I am so wishy washy on it. I hate to be the kind of person that is so nit-picky or over-reactive. But at the same time, I want what I wanted.

I appreciate you and everyone else weighing in on this. I did a search on the website for various BCM posts in the hopes of seeing some pics. I've found a few that looked pretty fuzzy but not quite as "frizzled" (for lack of a better word for the curving) as my Jasmine. I've also seen others whose feathers were a heck of a lot smoother than mine. I may give her another week or so to see how her feathers continue to grow. Or I may get a bug up my behind and send an email, lol. I just haven't decided yet.

I totally get it! It may be just a genetic flaw that showed up with her as well, and it very well could be a result of hatchery blood since they don’t care what genes they may contain as long as it doesn’t affect their hatch rates.

I'm boiling a bunch of eggs in my instant pot... hoping they're as easy to peel as "they" say. Especially since my eggs are only a couple of days old.
It's IMPOSSIBLE to peel them any other way i've tried .

I definitely will. They cracked a bit while cooking so i think they may be over done, but could also be due to the rapid heat...now I have them in the ice bath for 5 minutes.

Omg...I will never boil eggs the same way again. That was INCREDIBLY EASY. Instant pot 5 min, slow vent 5 min then ice bath 5 min.

These were steamed. And they stuck to the shells although I did get the yolks cooked perfectly, no unappetizing green.
