➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I’m giving the children a bath. They thought it would be fun to dust bathe like the chickens

I think TSC is done with chicks as they have all the stuff gone but the local feed store still has a couple more shipments this week and next week and they just got assorted feather footed breeds in this week and silkies next week and I’m really tempted to get more :hit

Their minimum is only 3 per ship date so a lot more doable than TSC’s minimum of 6.... hmmmmm.... those feather footeds sure are tempting...

I love my Cochin personality, but they don't lay many eggs.

I went into TSC and was annoyed but not surprised that they still have the same three bags of Flockraiser they had in March. Two bags marked Oct 10, 2018 and one bag from November. Will they ever pull that feed?!
Even writing a letter to TSC corporate gets a nice thank you response but no real action. I don't buy feed there anymore.

That’s alright! I have a leghorn in this batch :D

I’ve always wanted Cochins or Brahmas for the personalities and broodiness but never did and didn’t this time cause I wanted to focus on more eggs and looks but I’d love to add some and they have some... hmm... maybe just a few... no guarantees I’d get those breeds or even females though so probably too much of a risk. And no room. :hit

They’ve done it all week long, their allergies are killing them. Poor babies. They’re rolling around on the carpet now.

Awww that’s awful!! :hit I didn’t even think about allergies. Gator didn’t have any until he started getting sick and even then it wasn’t really allergies, just lots of health problems. But he loved dust bathing! In fact, he used to dig huge holes everywhere :lau he dug this absolutely massive one in the middle of the lawn one time :lau and used to dig around next to the deck, behind the plants in the garden lol he liked to dig to cool off too. That’s why he chose that spot or under the bushes. Cool dirt lol although it did make a mess and craters everywhere. :lau used to dig after mice and chipmunks too lol

Thankfully he was never allergic or we’d have problems ha

Just got gross :lau

Although we just have like dirt dirt. Like grass and mostly clay/sand dirt. Not all those weird allergen causing Texas plants and spikes :lau

Those wrinkles are too much. :love

The golden retrievers and I feel the itchy at this time of year too. No hotspots for Triumph yet, knock on wood. Poor Tesa back at my parent’s house has one though, and I feel like I could itch my eyeballs out on some mornings.
