Winds and hail did a number on our fruit trees. For example here is a plum in the front yard...
But there is still a lot of fruit on that dwarf plum tree.
Mother Nature thinned my trees for me since I couldn't get to them this year with all the rain we have had.
Today the boys used the Kubota tractor and dug out all the Elderberry bushes in my garden. With all the rain we have had For two years, they had exploded and completely taken over the 16 X 20 foot bed sending roots and sprouts everywhere.
They rolled back the timbers that surrounded that bed and dug out down 16 inches to the red clay level.
Hubby want to take the root stock to plant some low areas he found while checking pastures....if the cows will leave them alone I can pick those areas if I want berries.
We have 5 days of 20 to 50% rain chances. Then I'll have to rebuild that area and backfill it with good top soil we have stockpiled and compost before I can plant for the fall garden....good thing I have time for that.
Now these will become my favorite stretches for my back...
