➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I'll get to it eventually.
It's about 20 scroll on my phone to get through it.
That might be your worst...I mean your longest one ever.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to sound like I was rushing you to read it now or anything like that, totally understand and cool with if it takes a week, or even two weeks or a month or however long you need, I just mostly meant like at least look for a sec to see if you thought breaking it up helped at all, not to read the whole thing right now haha

And oh wow really!? That’s crazy!! haha whoops! Sorry!

I feel like I’ve definitely written longer ones though haha maybe not though. I feel like that one a few weeks ago was pretty long lol

It’s not that there’s anything “wrong” with the dogs themselves, it’s the entire concept of designer crossbreeds that’s messed up. Random dude has a poodle and a Maltese and has the neat idea for a side gig to pump out some puppies and throw them up on Craigslist..

Yes, backyard breeding and puppy mills happens with “purebred” dogs as well, but personally I’ve never seen a self respecting breeder produce a pitsky or a corgipoo (gag). At least purebreds have people who still care about the dogs and are working toward a better and healthier bloodline.

Ah okay yeah I guess that makes sense. I guess it is pretty messed up to purposely breed them but then again some people would also say it’s messed up to breed pugs and other brachy breeds with the extremely short noses they do and how they can’t breathe so I don’t know. There’s a lot of messed up things in breeding. But it is pretty stupid to be breeding all these mutts I guess and also how they charge purebred prices or way more. And they have definitely gone crazy with the crosses now. Some breeds should definitely not be bred together, completely opposite traits and whatnot, and people will breed anything with poodle or husky these days which definitely is not good. But some of the more “older” crosses maybe aren’t as bad? Idk. Maybe they still are? Like the ones that have been around a while. But I do know a lot of them seem to have lots of health problems. But then again so do purebred ones from mills. Seems the crosses and teacup breeds have a lot of neurological problems too though. Which is really bad.

And yeah, that’s true, although honestly I’m not sure I’d say they’re all of them are necessarily breeding towards healthier dogs as much as just what wins. For instance, surely breeding for shorter and shorter noses or only a certain color can’t be good for dogs in the long run. But I guess that’s probably a whole separate issue to designer dogs? Idk. But I think that’s maybe part of why I’m more like not as freaked out by it now because there’s plenty of, for example, horribly bred Aussies and all the “toy” and “mini” aussies that look either extremely sickly, crazy, or like mixes, or all three.

And I know it probably sounds like I’m defending them but I’m not cause I would never buy one but I guess I’m just saying there’s a lot of issues with the purebreds too. Idk.

And oh yeah I’ve read that article before or one similar to it. I think someone shared it here before. The guy regrets ever creating the doodle because they breed everything to poodle now and it probably kind of started the whole designer dog thing too. I get where he’s coming from cause I do think it started a lot of trouble and bad trend ha but that said I do think the Australian Labradoodles (not just any old regular Labradoodles, I’ll get to that in a second) are kinda cool and maybe not quite as bad as some of the others. Only because they have an actual registry, maybe two, I forget, and breeders actually working toward a standard and trying to get them recognized, breeders that actually care or whatever. Which is different than most designer breeds ha the Australian Labradoodles have I think Cocker Spaniel in them which is what makes them so sweet. And I think it’s preferred if they trace back to the original dogs that guy created but I don’t think that’s required. But they seem neat. But most are super expensive and/or require early spaying and neutering for some reason, idk why but a lot of the websites mentioned that, which I’m against, so they’re out. Not that I’d get a doodle or designer dog anyway haha although they are VERY common around here, there’s tons for some reason, and I met a Goldendoodle a classmate/friend has once when she brought him to class and he was AWESOME and so sweet. And my old professor of mine recently got an Australian Labradoodle puppy, this past fall/winter, and he seems awesome too, though I haven’t met him yet.

It's Pucker's 1st birthday on Thursday!

He's still being such a teenager, but my baby is growing up!
