Hubby shocked me this morning by saying that he'd been watching the shelter pages and one of them has a bunch of kittens, did I want to go look? Um, yes! This adorable tabby boy is ~10 weeks. He demonstrated the lap cat and hunting skills for us so I refused to leave without him.

He has the tiger stripe version of the tabby pattern so a bunch of skinny lines. His neck looks like you dragged a wide-toothed comb dipped in tar down it. He has a polka dot belly and a raccoon tail. So many great potential names from all of that!

So, he's been called Ziggy since this morning and I think it will stick. Not only for the zig-zag on the forehead but because he is all about the stealthy attack and seldom goes in a straight line anywhere.

The J P Connell Rose starts out yellow and fades to ivory once the sun hits it. These are the same rose. The first picture is from before it was completely open and had not been in the sunshine yet.

All of these roses are from the Canada Rose collection. They are all cold hardy and will survive a Wyoming winter without any special protection. They are all on their own roots so if the above ground portion does freeze back, the same rose will come back from the roots.
