Well a week and a half ago, I drove up to Turk's place and got 4 of her blue laced red wyandottes, they appear to be pullets so far. And are getting along quite well with my big girls. They may sleep in the big girl cage tonight, as I have time to make sure there is a little pecking order and nothing more.
I also came home with 3 wyandotte eggs!!! So one of my broody's has been sitting on them She gave me some quail eggs as well, but the broody wants to stay in the laying box, so all but one has disappeared . DD says if it hatches she plans to make a house pet out of it. We will see about that!!!
anyhow it is exciting to be hatching again, we should have babies in a week and a half

So Sweet. I hope to be in the same position soon!!!
We were starting to think about quail for food, but will have to see if the one quail egg hatches and DD makes it a house pet. If so I don't think she will eat quail.
I guess we could call it cornish hen
