➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Same lol but studying them could be useful haha

Oh I agree. Studying various creepy crawlies can always been valuable scientific learning. I just don't like em. LOL! This yr hasn't been as bad for us around here, thank goodness. It's surprising tho with all of the deer we have around here. I guess the family of turkeys that has been hanging around here has helped, as well as my chickens. That and I have all of my dogs on flea and tick meds. That always helps.

That's true!! I 100% agree!! And that’s good! It hasn’t been that bad here either. Had some issues with it in the spring when i was watching my friends dogs, kept getting a million, but they also live in a heavily wooded area and I was walking through the woods and brush/low areas/weeds with them a lot so that’s why probably lol we’ve had a pair of female turkeys hanging around a while. They love dust bathing everywhere but haven’t seen them eating much but I am sure they must.

Have I mentioned before that I am so over this heat? Was another scorcher today. I scrambled up a bunch of duck eggs and added in some peas and let the eggs thaw them. Gave them to the chickens. I figured with a hen or 2 molting, they could use the bump in protein. And it's been a long time since the ducks have gotten some peas so they got a treat today as well. My daughter came over and spent the afternoon with us. She brought her dog so all of the pooches had a playdate. My place is not big enough for 4 dogs. You wouldn't think 1 more animal would make a difference but oh my goodness it does. But we managed. They all had fun and got along great. My pit/lab, Maggie, like him a lot. She is always trying to show him her booty. She is such a hussy! :gig And he is just like, I don't want that, I want to play! I'm gonna bite your neck! Nibble, nibble nibble. And she's all, yes you do! And he's all, nope, let's play! And she finally gives up and says ok fine! They are goofballs! Hubby had to work on her car. Nothing major. Just help her out and change out her spark plugs. I ended up making french dip sandwiches for dinner. Kinda. My take on them anyway. The past couple of days I had been fighting a tummy bug. I blame @sdm111 :tongue. Today was the first day I have felt pretty normal. :yesss: So of course I overdid it today. Cleaning the coops, collecting eggs, trying to get caught up on laundry, cleaning kitchen, cooking etc etc. Tomorrow we are going to go to our very first hockey game. Normally we just watch it on tv. And tickets were FREE! :celebrate Not thrilled with having to fight with traffic to get to it but it'll be worth it. It's just the preseason opener but still. I'm super excited! :ya:wee:ya

Got Luna a cat tree for the first time and she LOVES it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her so happy. Should have gotten her one years ago LOL bet she’s gonna be really happy when I move it next to a window tomorrow and she can stalk the birds and chipmunks :lau

At first she only seemed interested in the box so I was a little nervous...

But eventually tried it out.

At first she didn’t explore too much, she was very tired and sleepy.

But then I put her on the top platform and she immediately discovered the toys :lau started playing like a kitten :love

This was right before she launched a near lethal attack on the stuffed mouse.

Batty is going to be jealous about today's hockey game.

Have fun!
