➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Every evening I do a head count when I close up the coops. Last night I kept coming up with the wrong number of legbar hens. I counted them at least 6 times and kept coming up with the wrong number. I was thinking that I was short one hen but it was actually one too many hens. I had sold two hens a couple of days ago to a neighbor so I should have had 9 of the legbar hens but I kept coming up with 10. One of the hens that I sold her could pass for a Brown Leghorn except that she lays a really pretty blue egg.

Once I realized that I had an extra hen, it didn't take any time to spot her sitting in her usual place on the roost. I guess she didn't like her new home and decided to come back here.
:lau

Did the person notice she is missing yet?

Haha that’s hilarious! Smart girl! Do you live close enough to the neighbor that she could have found her way back? I guess she must have but I was thinking you lived far?
Her new home is two houses down on the other side of the road. They are directly across the road from my next door neighbor.

I don't know. They have not come asking if I have seen her but they may also have been away for the weekend.

You should call them and ask them if they are missing one.

Oh I agree. Studying various creepy crawlies can always been valuable scientific learning. I just don't like em. LOL! This yr hasn't been as bad for us around here, thank goodness. It's surprising tho with all of the deer we have around here. I guess the family of turkeys that has been hanging around here has helped, as well as my chickens. That and I have all of my dogs on flea and tick meds. That always helps.
Is this what you were happy about last week?

Speaking of ducks.... my babies are now 13 weeks old. This is what I was thinking of asking.

"Have 4 male ducks that are 13 week old. Would like help in processing them. Am willing to share the spoils for your effort. If you will process them for me, 2 will be for you and 2 for me."

Is this reasonable? Too generous? To me, time and energy is worth something. I feel like it is not a bad deal. Opinions?

It sounds good to me.

Huh, not too far then. She must have decided she likes your place better. :lau

And huh, odd.

You should call them and ask them if they are missing one.

I think that sounds reasonable or maybe just one for them? Idk. But it sounds good.
