➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

We planted black-eyed susans in the front yard. The neighbors have all complimented us. We get letters from the HOA about putting a border on our flower bed. We call the border the street. Ugh.

Made a mediocre grade on my diseases test. A little ticked off.
I studied my butt off, didn’t seem to do much.
Classmates were bragging that they skimmed their notes 30 minutes before class started. Good for you, I guess.

Now I’m looking at an all nighter while studying for a parasitology test tomorrow. Anyone got any ticks they want me to identify? Lol.

Another vet meeting tomorrow night, a 20 page biochem assignment due Thursday, an animal nutrition paper due over the weekend... I want to cry. And sleep. Cry myself to sleep.
I don’t know how anyone could possibly work as a full time student and maintain good grades (I’m of the opinion that you can’t).
Ready for this week to be over.

Yes, this is self inflicted, Nutty. Let me complain dammit! If I can’t quit then I’ll at least fantasize about it.

Dog, how goes the resume?

Elkman, did that fawn from several days ago ever make it out of your fence?

How’d you sleep last night, Nana? I bet those calves were plenty vocal.
How many head do you have? At the ranch we have to use horses to split the mommas up. Talented cutting horses are a beauty to watch.

Awww I’m sorry Tes! :hugs

I know you can do it!! :hugs

And you have a ranch!? Somehow I don’t think I knew that?? Or maybe I did and just forgot?? But is it anything like the horses on TV? Haha I’m always impressed with those. :love

Also like watching a good dog work too. :love

Yes she did. I saw her several days later on the proper side (outside) of the fence with her mother.

That’s good!! I’m glad!!

We are here for your mental support! Feel better?

Sleep is important. Sometimes more important than studying. If you aren't physically at your best (under stress), then you won't perform your best no matter what. May I suggest getting sleep and going to the tests well rested?

Deep breath! Focus! Rest (and de-stressing) is important.

I find it interesting that the people who worry over the stress of their animals induce their own stress.

:goodpost:

X2!!

You can do it.
:hugs

X2!!!

One of my neighbors lined her whole driveway in sunflowers this year. At least 100 ft of driveway. I wondered how she did it. It was really pretty in full bloom, if a bit scraggly, and i wish id gotten a pic.

I bet that’s really pretty!!

There’s this like farm stand place down the road and they were growing a bunch of wildflowers this year and they were gorgeous and pretty tall and all different colors. I too wish I had gotten a pic of it in full bloom. Idk why I didn’t. It was gorgeous.

HOAs are the worst!!

Heard so many horror stories haha

The squirrels are eating my BOSS sunflower heads before they are harvested for the chickens. Chews them right off and makes a mess on the wooden fence. I think I will plant them in the dog yard next time.

Thankfully our squirrels never bother the chickens. They used to go in the run and eat the food or the scratch sometimes but I moved the food inside and I don’t feed them scratch anymore.

They do eat all the birdseed when I feed the birds so I don’t do that anymore either haha that’s in the front though away from the chickens but the chipmunks always eat it too so it’s not worth it. Kind of a waste of money if it all goes to the rodents :lau

The birds get some but not worth it.

Anyway, since I stopped that, the squirrels so far seem to be going for more natural food sources. Acorns and such. There’s a lot of squirrels around right now but they’re just all around the yard and under trees foraging like normal.

The chipmunks though... the dang chipmunks refuse to leave my garden alone this year!

Thank you!! I appreciate that. That’s so sweet. I wonder if there’s somewhere I could make some of the pictures into puzzles? I know my brother has made puzzles of the dogs for SIL so I’m sure there’s a way. Maybe I’ll have to look into that. There were some of some swans I took a couple years ago (can’t believe it’s been that long already) that I thought would make nice puzzles too or at least framed or something. I’ll have to try to find them.
...
And do you think the older cows have just kind of learned the routine by now/are used to it? Know this happens every year/expect it??

Yes. We use the feed truck a lot because the older cows associate it with feed or changing pastures.

My brain after studying for a diseases test for 10 hours straight
Never would have guessed Gwen Stefani.

I wish I could send the rain to those that need it along with the heat
We got 3x the months worth of rain in 8 days

In other news, the garden is still producing like crazy. Although I also haven’t collected vegetables in a while besides cucumbers so some of these have been ready a while, like the beans :lau  but there’s still tons of little ones on there too and both the tomatoes and the beans are coming back to life/growing new bright green leaves (they were kind of yellowing/dying) so that’s cool. A bit late in the season though.... :lau but hey, I’ll take it haha

Kind of ruined/stretched out my shirt carrying all that in it :lau

Hopefully it will fix itself/be fine. :fl
We are still getting some produce...not like in years past.
Most surprised by the low number of tomatoes and peppers while the okra (246.4 pounds) and sweet potatoes (57 pounds) are going gangbusters. Still have several weeks before our normal first freeze.

That makes sense!! So will the first time mothers eventually learn this too?

And she didn’t make that version! It’s a parody based on this song. :lau

Yeah, our tomatoes and peppers aren’t producing very well either but then again I never staked the tomatoes so that’s probably why. A lot of them have either rotted or been eaten by chipmunks before I could get them.

But even the peppers aren’t producing very well.

Our cucumbers and green beans are thriving though and the eggplant is doing pretty well. Hasn't produced very many but the plant is huge and healthy and the ones it has produced have been quite large. The cucumbers and green beans are producing way more than we could ever eat!!

:love Yes actually, I DO feel better.
I ended up taking your advice and almost slept into my test. HAH.
I burst in the classroom 1 minute late. I must’ve looked flustered because the assistant teacher patted me on the back and said I’d be fine hahaha.
You can do it.
:hugs
Thanks mom. :love
The test was a breeze, I way overstudied.
