➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

That is awesome!! Sounds really nice!! We have a similar thing here I think but not nearly as long or as nice. But we do have town and state forests and tons of nice areas to walk from right outside my door. I should really be taking advantage of it.

Cause I sit most of the time.

My dad does too. We really need to start walking. Or at least me.

Sometimes I don’t even check them every day.

They have a big 5 gallon bucket for water and a big feeder so it lasts a while. But I’ve been going out there more often lately. Trying to check them daily and collect the eggs multiple times a day or at least once a day.
Would you like to drink water that has been sitting in a glass since yesterday?

My stats are scary low

You dont need to have a big elaborate plan. Just go

The best exercise is one you will do

These are good points. Thank you.

I think I’ll just start walking and moving around more. And no more planting in one place for hours

Would you like to drink water that has been sitting in a glass since yesterday?

I have before

But point taken. I’ll try to do that.

Kdog.
Change your birds water every single day.
Easy extra steps by just doing that.

I’ll try to do that.

I actually just switched them to the heated bowl for winter so I’ll have to go out there daily or at least like every other day anyway. It holds way less.

I was thinking of finding my deicer for the bucket so I don’t have to but I’ll just keep the heated bowl so I have I go out there more.

Although I don’t usually like using open waterers. They get it dirty so dang fast and it’s such a pain changing it a million times a day, the bucket stays clean way longer and I usually try to at least top it off with fresh water frequently, and it lasts way longer with 11 birds, BUT I need the exercise and the birds are worth it so I’ll change it more frequently. Although it seems like a waste to just dump 5 gallons out every day. Maybe I need a smaller waterer haha

The heated bowl holds about a gallon and a half. Never used it with 11 birds, didn’t have the new chicks last winter, so we’ll see how long it lasts.

You know what else is good exercise? CLEANING. Get off your ass, girl. If you don't, it will blow up and you'll be one of those people that needs a motorized cart to go grocery shopping.
It might not seem that bad now, but just wait til you're over 30. Metabolism changes, and it's much harder to alter your life style as you age.

I set an alarm on my phone to go off every hour in the winter... When I am watching TV I get up at commercials. I get up and move for at least 5 minutes.

Nah, I would never let myself get like that. But I do see your point. I’m gonna start just trying to move more even if it’s just moving around the house more instead of sitting in one place too long.

The funny thing though is going in stores is actually one of the only times I really walk. I purposely park as far away from the store as possible most times and I’ll walk all over the whole store just looking at stuff or whatever and I love grocery shopping and all that. Once I get out, I walk tons. It’s just the getting out that’s the challenge. :lau

I’ve been better lately though and moving more but I’m also in the car a lot. Usually I’m either sitting somewhere at home or in the car. I don’t really like listening to my music with other people around so sometimes I purposely drive around or sit in the car just to listen to my music.

I should really start using headphones or a stereo at home.

The weird thing though is I’ve lost a lot of weight this year even though I haven’t really changed much. Although I guess I have had several periods this year where I did try, whether through eating better or exercising or both, so I guess maybe that’s why.

I've never used one of those step tracker thingies, but I once counted my steps on my daily half hour lunch break walk. 4500. One half hour of walking. There's really no excuse good enough unless you are literally in a wheelchair.

I know I don’t move enough and that getting the steps is easy. I just don’t do it. I’m going to start walking more. I’ve already gone on a few walks by myself without the dogs. I just have trouble remembering to do it regularly, especially with as cold as it is now. Although even when it was warm, I still barely am outside sometimes

I’ve been trying to lately just cause I know it will make me feel way better too and help me lose the last few pounds I have to go but it’s hard to remember. I know that sounds stupid for people who move a lot but it’s true. Maybe I’ll set a phone alarm or something or just write it down.

And I know cleaning is technically exercise too but I want to actually walk and physically move more too.

Thanks. That’s a good idea. I’m going to try that. I think that would help too. I don’t really watch too much TV anymore but do watch several shows a couple nights a week. I’ll get up during the commercial breaks and in between shows. But I will also just try to walk around every so often too.

Honestly sometimes I get so caught up in what I’m doing I lose track of time and then it winds up being a couple hours.

And no not just the phone.

Even the other night I was trying to make something and it took me like 2 hours. Or like sometimes I’m running around trying to do one thing but realize I have to do a these other things first/jump around a bit or get to talking to someone or whatever or sit in the car a while.

Anyway, point being, sometimes I don’t realize it’s been half hour, an hour, 2 hours, whatever.

So I think setting an alarm might help me to actually pay attention to the time and go walk around or go do what I originally meant to do or whatever.
