Sooo, the goats were awful. I say "were" because I got rid of them. Nubians were a poor choice. Worst sounding critters I've ever heard in my life. I felt like a hostage in my own home. I'd sneak outside of their line of vision so they wouldn't start screaming. If they saw me, they'd scream. Scream like children. I began hating them and knew that they needed to go. My cousin has a neighbor with a lot of land and two Nubians of the same age. They have kids and they take their goats hiking, and do 4H. They came and got them. They love them, and it sounds like a much better fit. I will never get Nubians or Nubian mixes ever again. If I do decide to get goats again, I don't think it will be for many years.Conan - how are the goats? How about that amazing chicken breed? Cricket?
The cream Brabanters are awesome. Such cool birds. Amazing foragers, friendly, beautiful, and one of them squatted the other day for the first time. Hope that means the eggs are soon to follow. They are an absolute winner to me. I doubt I will bother with any other breed of standard chickens for some time.
Cricket is a street rat. He's a sweet little thing, but he has his issues. Rescue dogs are a lot of work, and I'm pretty over the whole thing. If I bother getting another dog in the future, I will likely go through a breeder or get a smaller old dog from the pound.
How are those kitchen cabinets coming? Wishing you had left them that pretty gray color yet?
