The way I see it there is no one solution for mental illness. It is a very individual process to find out what works for you. And when you find the thing (or combination of things!) that works best for you personally, you stick with it and it doesn't matter what anyone else says.
Nope but I do know you can't say that coping mechanisms work 100% because everyone is different.Do you think you’re the only one with severe depression?
Oh gotcha. I’m not at dissertations yet, don’t really know how they work haha. Does it get published when you’re done?Bird domestication
The full title for my dissertation proposal is "Social organization andbird domestication in the American Southwest/Mexican Northwest: a test with the fauna from Paquimé and Pottery Mound"
And sadly no one else will be worried because no one else in my cohort is defending this semester. Two defended already in Spring and the fourth is presumably defending next semester. So it is just me this semesterThere will be plenty of supportive folks in the audience though. And several of my friends have volunteered to let me practice on them tomorrow and provide feedback. So that is encouraging.
I didn’t say they work 100%, I was disagreeing with your statement that medication is the only solution for severe depression.Nope but I do know you can't say that coping mechanisms work 100% because everyone is different.
@KDOGG331 here are my groceriesAll of the canned stuffed has no salt added... There's still naturally occurring sodium in them, but usually less than 15 mg per serving.
A lot of our fresh produce we buy weekly so it doesn't spoil.
I took out the families groceries like their meat and snack foods.

I meant that when you've tried everything and you have severe depression medication is usually the only think that works... It's usually the last resort.I didn’t say they work 100%, I was disagreeing with your statement that medication is the only solution for severe depression.
Veggies and beans. Tomatoes and tomato sauce.Oh wow that is a lot of stuff! And a lot of cans! Must have been heavy haha is it mostly like vegetables or?
No worries, most people don't and it varies a lot by department and institution anyway. Before I can "advance to candidacy" (official acknowledgement that I have completed every single PhD requirement except finishing my dissertation) I have to jump through a bunch of hoops. The very last hoop is my proposal defense. A dissertation proposal is a very long detailed plan of exactly what you are going to do for your dissertation, the theoretical and practical justification for your plan and typically also some preliminary data. You send it your dissertation committee (three faculty members that have agreed to supervise you) and if they agree you are ready then you can schedule your defense. The defense is a 45 minute powerpoint presentation of your plan to your committee and anyone else that wants to come (other faculty and students mainly). Then there is a public Q&A. Then the committee grills you behind closed doors. If you pass, then you can advance to candidacy. If you don't....it is bad.Oh gotcha.
